Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the shelves, all with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones that we think have the best chance of heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 3/4/15.
The Returning Hotness:
Lady Killer #3– First two books sold out. They are going for above cover price on ebay. The story is very cool, a suburban mom by day is a hot woman at night in the 1950′ era book.
The New Image #1
Big Man Plans #1– Eric Powells new book, crazy covers on this one got my attention. Brutal crime drama featuring little people.
Small Press Gem of the Week:
Halogen #1– Selling out online, quickly, the book looks really good. It comes in a 1:10 and a 1:20 variant as well.
The creative team behind HaloGen is no stranger to kickbutt ladies, epic world-building, and sweeping adventures. This time they’re strapping on their sci-fi boots for a series perfect for fans of Prophet, Rocket Girl, and The Fifth Element.
The Hard to Find one:
Pussycats #0- Sold out online already. This isan adult book that might get people talking and hunting. Already the darling of some message boards.
The Hey Kids Star Wars One:
Princess Leia #1– Current cultural juggernaut. Star Wars has been on fire since it came back to Marvel. This looks like another winner.
Pick of the Week:
Descender #1– Awesome new book from Jeff Lemire. One young robot’s struggle to stay alive in a universe where all androids have been outlawed and bounty hunters lurk on every planet. Several variants worth hunting down on this one.

Yeah, I’m betting Lady Killer #3 is going to be a small print run like the others since they were likely already printed and ordered before the first 2 got hot.
Check out e-comix.net for more Pussycats info. Personally I’m passing, just not for me but I can see this one easily heating up quickly. Yet cooling off just as fast being a 4 issue mini.

This one caught my attention at first but then I backed off. We’ll see, if my shop has a copy, maybe i’ll grab it.
I was on the fence at first. Then after searching eBay I noticed there was only 1 copy up. So I went back to Midtown to pick up 2 copies. Now the one on eBay isn’t so lonely anymore. Hopefully they flip quick.
Sold one of the copies I put up within 45 min. $15 BIN + shipping.

Yeah. Sold the other one for same price before this post. It’s odd but who am I to complain.
Sex sells. Provocative cover, known porn stars, low print run. This is a sure hit.

If the print run of Lady Killer #3 is huge, I certainly didn’t see many on the shelves today.
I managed to snag a copy of Pussycats #0 today so I was happy about that. 🙂
I couldn’t find a copy of Descender Cover B though. 🙁
Big Man Plans is the one i’m most excited about this week. As always, bring on Lady Killer!
