Casting news of Psylocke could be coming soon from Director Bryan Singer.
While the news that Lana Condor has been cast as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse already has X-Men fans excited, it seems like there’s more to come. On the latest episode of video cast Popcorn Talk, industry reporter Jeff Sneider revealed that Fox is looking to cast Betsy Braddock, a.k.a. Psylocke, and that she’ll likely be the next casting announcement to come from director Bryan Singer.
The first appearance of Psylocke is in New Mutants Annual #2by Marvel Comics on 10/86.
These are definitely out in the wild. Mid to low grades can be found for around $20, yet it’s the high grade copies that are much harder to find. The 90 day GPA for a CGC 9.8 is $323.00.
If you come across a high grade copy it is more than worth the investment of having it graded.
The first appearance of Betsy Braddock who becomes Psylocke is in Captain Britain #8 (Awesome cover!) by Marvel Comics on 12/76. This will be a bit more difficult to track down and fetching quite a bit more than New Mutants Annual #2. The 90 day GPA on this one for a CGC 9.8 is $1,199.00.
A cheaper grab still is Uncanny X-Men #256, the first Ninja Psylocke. This is where she takes on the more familiar form that people know and love.
With so many characters in the film the ones that stand out the most often get the biggest bump. I’d expect a slight bump following this announcement, followed by a plateau, and if she stands out within the film an even bigger bump. Personally I’d be prepared to sell the first time she’s seen in a preview to protect my investment if her role is obsolete. Yet if found at a great price no time is a bad time to sell.
Check the walls and back bins, because these are going up!
