T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, a comic with a long and interesting publishing history, will have a movie and TV show announcement coming out at SDCC this year.
Comicbook.com had the story:
The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, for those not in the-know, are a team of super heroes who work for the United Nations. But instead of behaving like larger-than-life icons, the Agents are merely everyday people, protecting the world as their nine-to-five day job.
“It’s not often that a major new motion picture and television franchise is announced in a surrounding more intimate than Hall H! So here’s your opportunity to be part of something very special,” reads the official description. “This panel remains top secret as the race is on to bring in an “A-List” franchise director and executive producer, either in person or via a video greeting, studio heads, producers, and include an homage to the underlying comic book artists, writers, and editors.”
T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents first appear in Thunder Agents #1 (1965) from Tower Comics. The book was started again by JC Comics for two issues. Deluxe Comics printed five issues of a series in 1985. There were two Thunder Agents #1‘s from DC comics, 2010 and 2011. Most recently, IDW published a new series starting with Thunder Agents #1 in 2013.
This is going to be different ! And a great concept !!! Lets hope they get the right people together and create this franchise. So much POTENTIAL …just needs the right vision and the RIGHT MUSIC (i.e. Knight’s Tale used modern music) …also needs a catchy and original song that people can associate to when watching the movie, animation, T.V. that is uplifting (i.e. Theme songs from Superman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc…) .
Anyone know the exact print run to Thunder Agents #1 (1965) ? Potential could be huge!
