Battling Boy gets award winning Director

I have said it before and I will say it again, Paul Pope is one of my favorite creators. I have been a fan since THB was first released and have bought just about everything he has put out since.

Battling Boy, which was optioned a while back, had landed an Oscar award winning director.

From Tracking Board:

Patrick Osborne, quickly becoming a highly sought-after talent following his 2014 Oscar-win, has now signed on to helm Paramount Pictures’ comic adaptation BATTLING BOY. The action/adventure, based on the hit graphic novel from Eisner award-winner Paul Pope, was picked up in 2008 by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and brought to Paramount as a part of their first-look deal at the time.

The movie is based on the graphic novel, but there was a one shot called the Invincible Haggard West (which I offered signed copies of months back) that feature the first appearance. Most of the copies have sold off eBay. There are copies available on Amazon starting at $9.99. Mycomicshop has copies of The Invincible Haggard West strting in the $1 range.

Plan B is also the company that is adapting Scott Snyder’s Wytches.
