Mel V’s Variant Picks of the Week

What’s up CHU, Mel V back with another great week of comics and variants. Variants do carry risk, some go up, some go down, but as long as you are buying art that you like, you can’t go wrong. Her is what I am feeling this week!

Ivar The Timewalker #11– Never read this before, but the cover looks so intriguing. I’m interested.

Venom Space Knight #1 Incentive Mike Deodato Jr Variant– Fantastic looking cover, I love anything Venom

Silk #1 1:25 -Silk variants always do well in the aftermarket, I expect this to do well

DK III Greg Capullo Variant -GREAT COVER. A CUSTOM MADE T-SHIRT OF THIS WILL SURELY BRING UP THE BATMAN VS SUPERMAN DEBATE OVER THANKSGIVING DINNER LOL

  1. I dropped Ivar after issue 2 or 3 but it was due to me having such a huge pull/read list. I always planned to go back and read it, I liked what I read originally.

  2. I wanted to pick up venom space knight but his face is not doing it for me. They made it look to much like Spawn. But that DKIII cover looks sick. Defenetly going to try and get that one tomorrow.

  3. Question for anyone: I’m wondering if Silk #1, the last series (regular cover) will be worth anything in the future? Does the fact that Marvel is restarting all these series make the last series #1’s worthless? I’m not talking about variants, but regular covers. Which (if any) Marvel titles #1’s last series are worth holding on to for speculation?, thanks.

    1. Well, demand is what causes value. If she does become more popular though, perhaps starts ending up in movies, etc… then her 1st appearance will likely be the most sought after in Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #1 (as Cindy Moon) and in #3 as Silk. But those that can’t afford the 1st appearances will likely seek out her #1 in her first ongoing series, likely causing those issues to go up in value as supplies run dry while demand goes up. So, anything is possible.
