Whats up Comics Heating Up? It’s your boy, Blind Adam. Thank you for reading this articles. Thank you again for all of your friendship and support. Now lets check out another twenty hidden gems that could make some money.
Lot’s of movie related spec here so dig in.
1 Is a three way. love three ways? In this case it is a comic book one featuring the Dark Knight over Metropolis story line and with that trailer from Superman vs Batman, these books should get some love: Superman vol. 2 #44 Adventures of Superman #467 & Action Comics #654
2 Superman Man of Steel #37,#40 Zero Hour Batman Superman story. I love this classic cover with many different versions of Batman on it #40 has the cover to Superman Man of Steel #37,#40 in the letters page with artist notes on the cover. Cheap books to make an easy $5-10 on when the movie is closer
3 Action Comics #719 Superman and Batman, and did Superman kill the Joker in this issue? $3-5 buy in. Hey Superman and the Joker are movie stars. So is Batfleck and Amy Adams, and she is hot as Lois Lane
4 Superman vol.2 #126Superman Batman, Lex Luthor, kryptonite ring, maybe Lex has the ring in the movie. I am not a fan of Lex Luthor in the upcoming movie but this can be found in dollar bins $5 easy
5 Another two way with two honorable mentions, Superman #168 (2001) and Detective Comics #756. Superman and Batman break into the White House $3-5 dollar books b.i.n. Hunt em and make the money. Lex 2000 special is another Batman/Superman Lex Luthor book of interest, $5-10 as I find it to be a tad harder to find in the wild. Shadow of the Bat 92 a great underrated Superman Batman story $1-3 at most. Batman Chronicles #7 is another great Superman vs Batman book and is $1-3 at most as well, anything Batman Superman teaming up will be a great spec play and well worth the money.
6 The Village Voice 2011- some where between October and November has a two page story with every Batman in history drawn . This was promoting the Batman dvd that came out this is a cool Village Voice and costs $10 at best
7 Digital Webbing #24– this is a rare TMNT appearance from the 2007-ish. Turtles on the cover. Low print run for Pete’s sake. It was Digital Webbing, after all, and hard to find but awesome.
8 TMNT Pizza Hut Coming Out of Their Shells tour book-$15-20 CBCS them and make $100 bills.
9 Web of Spider-man #18- debated as 1st apearance of Venom. Anything Venom and Carnage is worth a go. Why are these books so damn cheap?
10 Fables #94 $5-10 previews iZombie, great show, growing fan base, and I sell the hell out of the trades, but this is a cool preview of issue #1 of iZombie
11 Teen Titans Drug Awareness Issues. This might not have any money making potential. But it is just a fun book. And with the Teen Titans on Cartoon Network, here’s an idea Cartoon Network, make this comic book into an episode of Teen Titans Go.
12 Batman #448–449 the Penguin affair. If you’re a fan of the Gotham t.v. show, and it is a great show, then you love the Penguin. Robert Lord Taylor is killing it each and every week. This is a cheap, not reprinted to my knowledge, Penguin story that got me into comics and Batman stories again. $1-3 and what issue is the first appearance of the iceberg night club?
13 The July 1990 Overstreet Update. Not sure of the issue number. Has a sweet TMNT cover. I am working on a TMNT fan film and watched the TMNT 2 trailer ten times so it is fresh on my mind this will be a wall book $10
14. Daredevil Marvel Knights #36– 1st Jessica Jones outside of Alias Luke Cage appearance as well $5 make it $10
15. Flaming Carrot #25– 1st color Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
16. Another threeway. Everyone is chasing Superman Man of Steel #s 17 & 18. I say the better bet, and I believe Doomsday will stick around on the big screen for the second Superman Movie, is Superman vs Doomsday Hunter/Prey three issue mini series.
17. Cracked Star Wars Special 1980, yes Cracked magazine it was better then Mad Magazine. This is a Cracked magazine with Star Wars stories. I need to stay off bay and youtube as I find cool things like this $15 classic issue of Cracked Magazine and watch things like the Star Wars Holiday Special which needs to be on DVD officially. Yes, I said it
18. is a combo, yes fast food combo meal style. Star Wars 30th Anniversary 2 packs released in 2007. Two action figures packaged with a comic book. Star wars #1 from 1977 is all the rage in high grade. Well there is a 2 pack with action figures of Luke and R2d2 and the Marvel 1977 #1 $20-30 but if you open it you can grade the figures and the comics and make the money.
19. Baron Zemo will be in Civil War right? Captain America #168 is his first appearance right? Well there is an awesome variant for it . Power Records used this comic for the Power Record Captain America story so find the Captain America #168 Power Record and flip it
20. Power Rangers #1 (1994). First Power Rangers appearance in comics. We have a new Power Rangers comic coming out on Jan. 16, with a lot of pre-release buzz. A new movie in the works as well. Let’s not forget the Power Rangers do a ton of conventions including that Jason David Frank guy, aka the Green Ranger. This is in dollar boxes and can be flipped for $5-10 and is very easy to get autographed.
Thank you so much everyone. Please search for Blind Adam on youtube. One last question before I go. If you could open a comic book store in either New York city or Las Vegas where would you do it and why? Thank you. Blind Adam out.

Any idea what those might be worth (ball park)?
These write ups are pretty good. Keep it up! I love the info!
Nate- Best way to find out of they are worth anything is to go to ebay or mycomicguide.com.
Thanks! I’ll see if I can match up his list. I just thought someone might have a ballpark, like that’s probably worth $100 or something like that. I believe he was asking $75 for it.
I would definitely look at prices on mycomicshop.com, comicpriceguide.com, or comicbookrealm.com and see what the values are. When buying in bulk I usually offer 25% of going value as anything you get of value has to be weighed against dealing with the books that don’t move.

All depends on grade as well..
Thank you!
dc is hard for me to invest in…
Same here. Even for my monthly reads, I can’t commit to much DC after getting burned so many times. I’m a continuity buff, so it drives me nuts the number of times they have rebooted, or soft-rebooted, or just editorially glossed over random storylines, or outright ignore the correlation between current books. With most of them, you practically have to treat each title as it’s own separate universe and ignore it’s connection to anything else. Of course, with things like the Batgirl mid-run reboot, even that doesn’t help. But as far as back-issues go, aside from first appearances and classic storylines, the rest have languished in value because comic book fans aren’t seeking out stories that “don’t count” in the history of the characters anymore. And many of them end up getting re-told, so it becomes the most-recent version that people are looking for. The “New52 Origin” or the “New52 First Appearance”.
Same goes for me the only DC I collect for the PC are Batman once Snyder is done so am I, and American Vampire if you count that as DC.
Marvel published Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie in 1989, five years before that “first” appearance. I pulled the Ron Lim (“A” cover) from a quarter box, but have never seen the photo variant (“B” cover) in the wild.
I think you mean “1995”.
The MMPR Movie book was published 9/1995 here is a link http://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=89841&AffID=1003187P01 the Hamilton Series came out 12/1994 http://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=141051&AffID=1003187P01
Captain America 168 and web of Spider-Man 18 are good picks both have a lot of potential speaking of venom guardians of nowhere #1 gwenom cover has a lot of future potential as well. It’s only a matter of time before the symbiote makes his way into spider Gwen. Look at what’s happened to amazing Spider-Man 678 Mary Jane venom cover
I absolutely agree on the Gwenom cover…i bought 6 copies when it came out….waiting it out…….
Appreciate the research effort whether comics rise or not. I like picks that are still low priced, significant in some way and lesser known or not recognized in Overstreet guide.
nice work. one comment though-the first tmnt in color is either on the back of new age comics 1 or in grimjack 26.
