Comics Picks of the Week for Delivery 1/13/16

Each week hundreds of new comics hit the shelves, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 1/13/16:

Walking Dead #150 leads the charge this week in what seems like it is going to be an awesome week for comics, especially indie books.
The Just Because
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #0– This has become a generational icon. I loved it when I was younger and now my son loves it. I already warned you about the elusive Comicspro variant but this could also give the SDCC promo a shot in the arm.
The One With the Walking and the Dead
Walking Dead #150– No doubt this is the book that everyone is going to pick up. No doubt this will still go up in value with or without a major death. The regular covers are selling out online. There is also the rare One Per Store Black and White Variant. WIll be a long term winner without a doubt.
Indie Picks of the week
Bigfoot Sword of the Earthman #2– First issue was very strong, a real fun read, Can’t wait to see the action unfold.
Spirit Leaves #1– Studio Ghibli feeling new book from Chapter House. Fans of Bone and Non-Player should dig this one. Hoknes USA has an awesome and ominous looking variant for this book.
Indie Gems
I Mage 0– A little book from Action Lab, who do not do big print runs. Billed as, “The adventure begins when the Science ends.” A space ship crashes with a lone survivor, Kai. Everyone else bailed in time. Kai is rescued by an apprentice magi and her quirky mentor. Together they’re Kai’s only hope of staying alive long enough for his parent’s return.
Gutter Magic #1– A good looking alternate London story from IDW.
Luna Vampire #1– Fans of Invader Zim and Rick and Morty should be on the lookout for the new IDW launch.
Evil Dead 2 Cradle of the Damned #1– Ash is still as popular as ever. With the Evil Dead TV show, I am surprised these small printed books haven’t shot up in value yet. Give it time, these are growers not showers. Sure, there have been other adaptations of the Army of Darkness franchise, but this one definitely gets the feel right.
Returning Favorites
Spread #12– One of our favorite books returns this week with three different covers.
Birthright #13– Another of our favorite books returns this week. Going to be a good reading week.
The Pick of the Week
Burnt Comix #1– Speaking of limited to one per store is this small gem from our friends at Creature Entertainment. Their book, The Gun, had great success, especially the rare Kickstarter edition.
