  1. Back issue pick ups this week………
The Agents #6 2003. Do you think your walking dead #1 is Rick Grimes 1st appearance? Well it’s not, this obscure book has a walking dead preview with Rick in about 28 panels and his partner Shane Walsh in 5 panels. Walking dead comics are HOT and once the majority of the walking dead collectors find out about this book and it being 1st walking dead in comics and first Rick Grimes appearance watch out this book could go insane. I’m sure The Agents #6 doesn’t have a very large print run so get your copies now before its to late. This book reminds me a lot of absolute vertigo which has a preacher 1st appearance and cover before preacher 1. These books containing previews are gaining steam, because let’s face it they are the real 1st appearances of these characters in major books.
GrimJack #26 1986 the true 1st appearance of tmnt in color. Old book easy to find in the $1 bin this is going to take off. 8page tmnt bar scene comic with the turtles in color for the first time. Tmnt keys are becoming popular pick ups as more comic collectors are liking the turtles and looking for what books are keys outside of the original books in their 1st printS. This book just recently came to light as flaming carrot #25 was thought to be the turtles first color appearance.
Deadpool kills the marvel universe #1 1st print found one for a good deal at $22
    Incredible hulk #172 1973. Wendigos 1st appearance
Avengers #196 Taskmaters 1st full appearance lucked out $15 on eBay
Tales of suspense #94 Modoks 1st appearance
Sandman #4 Lucifers 1st appearance show premieres next week. Found this for $17
Inhuman #1 2014 1/50 Humberto Ramos variant lash 1st appearance and a nice variant to boot
Alias #1 first appearance Jessica Jones my lcs gave me a great deal on a nm one been meaning to pick this up earlier when it was cheaper but the good deal I got on it was cheaper then anything on eBay.
    Submariner #19. Stingrays 1st appearance
X-men #168. Madelyne Pryor first appearance. Think I already have this somewhere in my comic collection, but found this in the $1 bin. Can’t pass up xmen 1st appearances in the $1 bin
Spiderman and his amazing friends #1. Firestarr 1st appearance found for $9 with free shipping
A-Force #1 2015 Hans 1:25 variant Singularity 1st appearance already have this book in another cover but wanted this specific one for the Singularity art.
X-men #148 Caliban 1st appearance umm this was in the $1 bin. Caliban is confirmed in age of apocalypse. Won’t be $1 forever.
Wolverine Origins #5 you could argue this is Dakens 1st appearance and not Origins #10 picked up for $1.50
    New stuff picked up……………………………………..
    A force #1 2016 hip hop variant
SpiderGwen #4 both reg and Deadpool cover gwens goblin 1st appearance.
Spiderman Deadpool #1 hip hop variant
    Secret Wars #9 midtown variant.
And now I’m broke for the week.

      1. sorry for calling you “dude”, by the way. i just noticed your name is alana. that’s my bad.

    1. awesome post, dude! great tips, thanks.
i had no idea about agents 6 but upon reading your post i promptly picked one up on ebay for $30 and was glad to pay it. i saw that someone got one at auction last month for $8.50 but first walking dead? shit, i’ll pay $30 all day. there are a couple raw copies up right now for $40-$50 and a cgc 9.6 for $70, just fyi to everyone.

      1. No worries yes it’s Alana… There is also capes #1 that has a walking dead preview and has the same print date in sept 2003 as agents #6. I have both capes and agents, just agents #6 I bought this week so didn’t mention capes#1. Both books are starting to get up there in price and definitely worth a pick up for any walking dead collector, or any 1st appearance collector

    2. How much of the story is shown in Agents 6? I don’t own either this or Capes but so have a very good Walking Dead collection. Both of these books have been known for a long while but people do tend to forget about the previews. And speaking of Previews, there was the Walking Dead previews that contained pages that pre-dates both of the books.

  2. My pickups are:
    Back to Future #4
    Gutter Magic #1
    Birthright #13
    Citizen Jack #3
    Descender #9
    Faster Than Light #5
    Spread #12
    Violent #2
    Walking Dead #150
    Avengers #3
    Hawkeye #3
    Wolverine #4
    Captain America #5
    GOTG #4
    Thor #3
    Red Wolf #2
    Scarlet Witch #2
    Secret Wars #9
    Silk #3
    Uncanny Avengers #4
    Lantern City #9
    Ninjak #11
    Enormous #4
    Black Hood #8

      1. I pick them up if I find them at cover but the one shop that does set out usually doesn’t order enough to get a lot of the variants after issue #1.

    1. The two shops I went to this morning, both sold out of Walking Dead #150. Both usually order heavy as well. One had just one copy left when they opened, they said they got a rush of pull requests within past week, so some twat got the BW cover I was hoping for at cover. I ran for no reason.. well, not really, I did manage to get the Sook variant for Wolverine and the Bianchi cover for Secret Wars.

      1. I’m just thrilled that you finally ran. I’ve been wanting this ever since I found out about the runners.

  3. This week’s picks are;
Starfire #1-8 ( for the wife)
Spread #12 ( favorite series to date)
Walking dead #150 ( Moore, Ottley, and Blank Variant covers. No B/W. )
Silk #3 ( no luck on finding the Campbell variant for the wife. Maybe someone in Texas can find one for me *cough * cough Poyo * cough lol)
lantern city #9 ( story is ok so I might drop it if it doesn’t get better after issue 10)
Mighty morphin power rangers #0 ( regular cover, pink cover, and white cover)
    Enormous vol. 2 #4 ( both A & B covers )
Also got ASM # 1.2 for a friend since he us Cuban and they had a flag error on one of the panels.
One note: I read Belladonna #0 and man I got to say that the art is amazing and the story is well told. I know that there is previous series of hers, but Ignacio Calero gets down on the art. I told myself that I was never going to buy an Avatar press book again and grabbed this one by accident and I got to say that this book is well written and can’t say enough about the art. Yes this book is XXX so it’s not for everyone.

  4. Light week on new stuff for me: Spread.
    Back issues:
Tales of Ghost Castle 1 (2nd appearance of Lucien from Sandman, 1st appearance of Ghost Castle later revealed to be Dream’s home)
DC Special 4 (first appearance of Abel)
CGC 9.6 Saga of the Swamp Thing 20 (1st Alan Moore issue)

    1. Spent some of this past weekend bagging and boarding my old Neil Gaiman collection. It is what got me into comics and was a period of time in my life when reading comics was more important than preserving what I had.

  5. Spawn is what got me into comics and I have been there where I have put comics first before my family and yeah it’s not a good feeling lol. I laugh about it now, but not so funny back then lol

  6. Your killing me with you WD #150 spoilers post. Most of the time I don’t care about spoilers and will just click on it anyway, but for some reason I want to be surprised tomorrow. Good luck to everyone trying to get that b/w WD #150. Hopefully nothing went wrong and mine is in my pull box waiting for me. I’m going to my main store tomorrow, I have not been for a long time. So I know I have a lot in my box waiting for me, some titles I know I have 2 issues waiting.

  7. Disposable Heroes in the UK. Who else is still trippin balls…? I reckon they’ve done a runner!

    1. Yeah, they have gone bust from the looks of it. Their eBay store disappeared at Christmas. There was talk about it on the Google+ comics page. Such a shame as a great store, bought loads of books from them over the years. If you have out standing orders from them I guess note them all down and try and call them. But I don’t know, all communications have pretty much shut down from what I hear…

  8. I’m pretty pumped for Ninjak #11. This series is absurdly good and Shadowmsn returns in this week’s issue! Going to grab two copies.
Power Rangers #0? Maybe. Only if they have the red ranger. Checked yesterday and my LCS has none of the incentives. (And they’re proud of it….haha)
I am so nervous for Hickman’s conclusion in Secret Wars #9. Hopefully, the Infinity Gauntlet gets the treatment it deserves. Don’t f!?& this up, Hicks!
Ever since a couple issues of Silk’s first appearance popped up in a lot I bought off eBay, I’ve loved Cindy Moon. I’m glad she has survived into her second (third) year of publication. Saw a J. Scott Campbell at my LCS yesterday. Hopefully I can snag it.
I’m not a huge TWD reader. But, I buy, read, and resell these milestones. Seeing as Greg at Black Cat Comics has one of the most enviable TWD collections in existence, there is no chance in hell that I will get the black and white variant. Might try my other stop. Fingers crossed, but no expectations.
I heard Spread #12 was a good jumping on point. So, I’m going to give the series a shot.
Also, Favian Nicieza is going to be in SLC soon. Looking for Deadpool back issues for him to sign. Circle chase, wedding of Deadpool. Etc.
    That’s it for now.

      1. I know. I try to keep this things on the down low until I catch up. I was waiting for a good jumping on point and apparently #12 was written with that express purpose in mind.
Still some phantom variants of #1 floating around if I like #12. Check back with me, Tony! I swears I’m goods for its!

      2. Isn’t the punishment banned for life for those that don’t read Spread? I seriously think you need to start enforcing this Tony.. or I’m gonna rethink my friendship with you! 😛

      3. There is a TWD B&W at Dr. Volts in Salt Lake. It’s currently in somebody’s hold, but the offer is a $50.00 sale if that guy decides not to pull the trigger.
        Just sayin…
Otherwise, I got a J. Scott Campbell Silk.

  9. As for the flag error on the ASM issue, I also think it was done on purpose. How is it that a Puerto Rican “artist” doesn’t know how to draw the Cuban flag? I think he also might of made this error to get his name out there since he is a new artist. My opinion

  10. Just a heads up. Boom! Studios website has the all mighty morphin power rangers cover for $99. Cheaper then ebay.

  11. And the artists needs to take responsibility cuz he is the one that puts notes for the colorist to do. I mean you can also blame the editors for not catching it before publication. It’s a big domino effect. But everything comes back to the artist. Trust me I drew a tow truck for a costumer for his app and he gave it to someone else to mess with it and the design of it got all messed up and try to blame me for it. Luckily I had copies of the original art.

  12. My grabs this week:
Well I got those last few issues of invincible my ship forgot about
    Shield
    Back to the future
    Batman/tmnt
    Birthright
    Hellblazer
    Robin war
    Secret war
    Silk
    Spread
    Superman American alien
    Thor
    Walking dead
    Uncanny avengers
    The deadpool true believers issues

    1. So along with the issues above, I picked up the variants for walking dead as well, ottley, Latour, and Moore, at cover. As well as the agents #6 for $1!! They were asking for $150 (canadian) for the black and white Walking dead, got it for $100 (canadian)!!!!

      1. I have to thank you for that one Alana. I didn’t even know it existed until today.
Telling him why I wanted it helped me get the price break on Walking dead black and white.

  13. Hastings has a promotion for buy one bagged comic get one free.
So I grabbed Web Warriors 3 Whalen variant at cover and grabbed a Starfire coloring variant for free. Good stuff!

  14. I spent too much today, although it could have been worse. The two BW WDs 150s were going for 250 and 100. The 100 one was damaged so they had priced it accordingly (VF).
I had my hands on a CHEAP Silk 3 variant, but because of the unspoken code some of us abide by, I gave it to the guy that had been in line first (I was 3rd and managed to find it and pick it up first). Of course the #4 guy tried to snatch it out of my hands when I handed it to #1. Things could have gotten ugly. I did manage to find the only other copy in town for $60. I’m bummed I missed out on the cheap copy, but I keep telling myself it wouldn’t have been right to keep it.
Got the Sook Wolverine variant. Couldn’t find Web Warriors (which I wanted). I got most of the Deadpool variants for cover and the Liefeld X-Men cover. All-in-all, not bad.

      1. Ha! He’s lucky he didn’t get shot. In Texas, we have open carry now! Maybe I need to pack next week and get everyone away from the Hughes Captain Marvel…

    1. I once gave a kid an Incredible Hulk #0 at Another Universe that was signed by Stan Lee. He picked it up out of their clearance bin and put it back for another issue. He was there with his mom. I wanted it so bad but she said he could only get one comic and he wanted an X-Men book. I told her that Stan Lee’s signature is valuable and she should let him get both and keep it safe. I said if she didnt want it i would gladly take it but am for informed choice. She thanked me and took it. I felt foolish but good about myself.

      1. If only it had been a kid, then it would have been much easier. But this was just another guy that I had seen at the shop a few times before. I had to abide by the code, man! First come, first served. Of the four shops I checked out, only 2 got the variant.
I’m in the DFW metroplex, which according to a recent meme i saw, is roughly the size of Connecticut now. LOL

  15. Picked up the Spread action figure cover, Spirit Leaves by Chapter House Comics, Capes 1 for cheap (thanks Alana!), and a copy of Weird Mystery Tales 1 (Kirby art and 1st Destiny from Sandman).

  16. The Black Hood #8
    Faster than Light #5
    No Mercy #6
    Snow Blind #2
    Violent #2
Legend of Wonder Woman #1 (pick up for the wife)
I’ve been reading the Walking Dead in Trade. I’m way behind, I’m in trade 19 I think it is now. Avoiding spoilers for #150 is becoming really hard. If and when I catch up I might have to move to single issues.

      1. I have not been to the store yet. I always have to go to work. Usually the good stuff is gone by the time I get there. I do go to a smaller shop however so they’ve had stuff that would’ve been gone at a bigger shop. It kills me having to wait for the end of the day every Wednesday.

          1. Lol, I know! I have to be here at 8am with very few exceptions. While I can be a little late if I need to I can’t be THAT late. I don’t get to the shop until 5pm most weeks. Work gets in the way of my life I tell you. #firstworldproblems

                1. My shop didn’t get Legend of Wonder Woman in. They said it’s on their invoice for next week? I don’t know if this was a case where some of the country got theirs today and the rest get it next week? I know that’s happened in the past for whatever reason.

    1. I have a full run of regular covers and am fat. I think I addressed both parts of that. Unless you mean tall, then it is Poyo who is the bigger Walking Dead fan. I am very short. (Mel V. is shorter though)

      1. I’d say, both equal as in fans but Tony been a fan longer than I have. I didn’t start watching Walking Dead until Season 3 was about to start ( I was watching Breaking Bad, then caught up with Walking Dead on Netflix before Season 3 started ).
The Walking Dead show is what got me back into comics. I stopped by the local shop to pick up the TPB (didn’t realize they had like 16 or so, so started out with the first 4)…. read them and was hooked, so went back and picked up the remaining TPB and then the issues they had to catch up entirely.
At that point, I started browsing the other comics and shit looked interesting so I started picking up more and more to read. I think it was that next spring, I was just doing searches for comic related stuff online and stumbled upon CHU. I book marked it and kept coming back to find out what’s hot. I was mostly finding out the hot books to read.. then months later I find myself seeking out books to sell… been around ever since.

                1. That’s true… if I ever go MIA…. something horrible has happened. I’ve been on the Internet for so long, it’s not very exciting to me anymore so I just have a few sites I frequent and CHU is one of them. 🙂

      2. How tall are you Tony? I’m not tall, but I’m not short. I was told in high school I would make a perfect candidate for the Armed Forces as I wore average pant/shirt size and shoes size was average. They basically pitched me to join based on the fact that they wouldn’t have to spend extra money on uniforms and shoes.

  17. Today’s pick ups;
All walking dead covers, except B&W, I can’t justify £150 ($215) on a comic that’s not as rare as people might think it is. Don’t get me wrong but there are what 3-3.5k comic shops in the US. World wide, 4-5k. So 4 to 5 thousand copies. As hard as they maybe to get now, and I believe there is long term value (not read it yet), I’ll wait a month or two and see what the price is then.
Also I didn’t get the black cover as I don’t see the point. I’ll never be able to get it signed and sketched at a con so it’s just a blank cover!
Enormous 4 both covers, I’m only missing 2B from the first series of the none store exclusive covers. Anyone help me out?
Citizen Jack 3 – good so far and vertigo seems to have consciously raised its game after putting out a lot of dross for the last few years.
Violent 2 – first issue was very good, terrible parenting but very good.
Burnt comics 1 – my store had two regular and 1 variant so I got the variant. Good small print find I reckon.
    Black moon 4
Wolverine 4 sook variant. Amazing cover. Normally I’d flip a issue 4 1:25 but will keep this.
    Some comic care bags.
Captain America 24 at cover after the recommendations of the good people on here. Big up Tony.
Passed on a catwoman 23 2nd print at £8, could get the 1st print for £2 more on eBay. Couldn’t find capes or the agents anywhere.
Also passed on Silk 4 JSC at £35, regret that now as they are going for twice that on the bay.
Think that’s it. Light one. All the best everyone.

  18. I finally went to my main shop this is what was in my pullbox.
    Nailbiter # 18, 19
    Woods # 18, 19
    Saga # 32
    Secret Wars #8, 9
    Rick and Morty # 9a, 9b
    Paper Girls #3, 4
    Self Storage #3
    East of West # 22, 23
    Batman #47
    Humans #10
Ringside #2 (may drop after this issue)
    WCNGH #5
and the jewel of the day (maybe month) TWD # 150 b/w for $25.
Other pick ups Batman/TMNT #2. All new Wolv. #4 Deadpool var. for cover. Two back issues Capt. Marvel #14 and Marvel Now point one, with my pullbox/subscriber discount they cost me one dollar. I know one of them is the first app. of Ms. Marvel, I have seen both of them listed as her first app. so I’m not sure which one it is.

    1. I wanted to like Ringside but when I start drifting in thought while I’m reading it, the comic and story has lost me already. I didn’t pick up Ringside #2..

    2. My local shop (and I live on a island with only one shop) wanted $350 for the walking dead b/w variant, you can see why I buy the majority of my books online.
