  2. The delays are gonna throw it all off.. I’ll likely miss out on the variants I’d go for. 🙁

      1. They usually open around noon, just depends on when they get them in and pull the subs and then put out the remaining ones.
        I think Capstone said they’re going to work hard to open by noon. The others usually tweet or post on Facebook when they’re ready.
        Yeah, I usually take lunch to work and eat while I work (yeah, I’m dedicated like that)..

          1. One thing I love about current employer and boss, very flexible… “Hey, I’m gonna work from home next week.” Boss, “Okay”. 🙂

    2. Man, that is awesome. My work is getting a little more flexible but if I tried to do it all the time or for anything more than a rare day here and there they’d put a stop to it.

      1. I’m usually now in a position, when I interview for a job, I tend to turn the focus on them not hiring me but why should I come work for them? I’ve learned walking into any interview with that attitude, you usually always get the call with the offer.
        I know I can do the job.. tell me now why I should work at XYZ company? 😉

Pick ups this week……… There’s a lot so I’ll keep it short many of these books either contain a characters 1st appearance that’s in the new Lego Avengers game or a pick up off of blind Adams past lists went through all of them and picked up some cheap books from his old lists. Not going to remember all the 1st appearances these books contain off the top of my head but they all contain one.

    Also while patiently awaiting for my first Lootcrate and first Collector corps boxes this month, both Deadpool themed. I pre ordered my first Sideshow statue ever!! I’ve always wanted one and midtown had all their statues on sale online and was able to preorder the premium Format Joker from Arkham Knight. Big week for me, probably be a slow 4 months of back issue pick ups after this, I don’t like buying comics on eBay when everyone gets their tax returns things go higher then they should. So I’ll wait a few months before jumping back into back issues.

    2. What is in Marvel Age#58? Also, Darkhawk is now considered to have first appeared in Marvel Age#97.
      What is the significance of the Kree Shatterstar from Inhumans?
      And Wiccan had a name in Young Avengers#1; he just decided to change it in #6. He was originally going by “Asgardian”; but others pointed out it’s shortcomings and comparison to “ass-guardian”.
      Now in the New New New Avengers, he is being criticized for going by “Wiccan” when he isn’t really “Wiccan” and doesn’t know much about Wiccans… so he may be changing names again.
      And speaking of Bill & Ted in this week’s books, I’ve always found it funny that Hulkling & Wiccan’s real names are Billy & Teddy. 🙂

      2. Kree Shatterstar aka Arides could see a role in either Agents of shield tv show in the future or the inhumans movie if it gets made. Cheap pickup at $4 with combined shipping on my order already.

      3. I checked out that Marvel Age issue, and it was actually released alongside X-factor#24. The other Horsemen had already been fully revealed by #19, and since Archangel appears in #21-23, I don’t know how much potential the Marvel Age issue has. Still cool to see what they include there early-on. I am actually still surprised they consider #23 to be a cameo, since Archangel appears on 2 pages of the book, after having made two previous cameos. I guess the powers-that-be *really* like the idea of Archangel having 3 cameos before his first full appearance, lol. I really do wish someone would put together a Master List for Marvel Age. Lately that series has been popping up with character first appearances that precede their comic book debuts, and gaining traction. One of the ones I snagged a bunch of is Marvel Age Annual#4, which now counts as the first appearance of Damage Control, which may also be a TV Series on ABC eventually.

  4. Think I’ll take the money I would have spent on Vampi back issues and put it towards MMPR 0 2nd prints. Also glad I ordered a few Escape from Monster Island 1 350 exclusives. Those are going crazy. There’s already one listed for $100 Buy It Now on eBay. Insane!! Not too much else, maybe some variants if there’s anything worth looking at.

  12. 1. Extraordinary X-men #5 – do you think adult scott summers is really gone? will he ever be brought back or will young scott summers become the permanent Cyclops? I hope not, but I don’t really see a need for 2 Cyclops’s. this is different from wolverine’s situation since old man logal and x-23 are so completely different from the regular wolverine, so I assume he will return eventually.
    2. Power Man & Iron First #1 – both characters are going to be household names after their shows premier on Netflix. I feel like issue #1’s of a current ongoing series do well when a movie/show comes out, even though its obviously not a true #1 (see new suicide squad #1 for example)
    3. Amazing Spider-Man #8 – im confused, is peter parker the only one immune to a 2nd dose of shade? cause it seems like everyone else can be effected by additional doses.
    4. Uncanny Inhumans #5 – if the quiet room becomes a thing, I wonder if that will create any interest in its first appearance in the secret wars tie in
    5. Sex Criminals #14 – xxx cover. these have not been what ive expected. and they’ve managed to keep the covers secret until the day of release, so its always a surprise for me.
    6. Grumpy Cat #1 – the only comic ive been able to get my girlfriend interested in. go figure.
    7. Enormous #5 – really don’t know how this tv show is going to work. I think the story has been fine, but nothing really exceptional or original. for me, the series is 100% about the beautiful art. and tv special effects have never really impressed me. but I guess well see

      1. I’m totally over X-Men (all titles even) for now.. the existing and the young one’s from the past.. just too much for me to keep up with, just all silly to me.
        The way I see it.. they (Marvel) realize their mistakes they’d like to change in the story lines and now bringing back the young X-Men from the past is a way to redo it all.. at least that’s the impression I get from all of this nonsense.
        Jean Grey is dead.
        Cyclops is a dick.
        Professor X is dead.
        …
        …
        Let’s keep it at that and come up with fresh new characters or something..

        I grew up loving them, and it seems that marvel has done everything they can to mess them up. Too many x people, too many teams, theyre all dark and angry now. Forget that
        Worst Xman Ever was the best x title theyve done lately.
        Sadly, it looks like the inhumans are heading that way too.

    Black Hood #9 Shocked at how low the print run is for this. Hopefully it can stick around
    Sex Criminals #14 It’s been, what, a year since 13 was release? Sure feels like it.
    The Tithe #8 A solid crime book that i’ve really enjoyed.

    Superman American Alien – really enjoying this series. Didnt think much of it at first and skipped the first two issues, got bored and decided to download them and give them a read. Needles to say I went right out and ipicked them up and added it to my pull. This series is a LOT of fun!
    Amazing Spiderman – I am NOT enjoying this ANAD ASM. I would drop it, but its spiderman
    Thor – wondering if last weeks avengers (was it avengers? You know what im talking about) has had an effect on this title yet…

    Whatever is is that my Hollywood friend has sent me should arrive today or tomorrow.
    Sorry Tony, I’m fairly certain it is not a crew jacket. I was told “It’s not much, but I know you’ll be stoked on it”
    Also, I got these sweet little Walking Dead blind bag chibi figures on Valentines day (Yeah, shes cool like that). They’re pretty sweet, you get three little ones in each bag.

    1. I’m with you on ASM. Long time Amazing Spider-Man fan here but this new crap is just that.. crap!

      1. I think Slott has overstayed his welcome. The new series has been very bland, and doesn’t even feel like Spider-man. We’ve seen variations of this status quo already, and it always gets old fast. The only spider-book I am enjoying right now is Silk. I hope that book levels out in sales and continues for a long time. She is constantly being overshadowed by Spider-Gwen, and I dropped that book at #4 of the pre-Secret-Wars volume. Silk is original, funny, and emotional, and really deserves more attention. Maybe after this Spider-man/Silk crossover mini-series she’ll gain some more readers.

        1. Maybe we should start a petition to have Slott removed from writing ASM 🙂
          I’ve been on the Silk bandwagon since she was created…

    2. Oh and I haven’t read mine yet but most are saying Spidey has the original feel of Amazing Spider-Man.. and I must admit, the regular covers have been really slick too. I might focus more on this series than ASM. I’ll only pick up ASM since I’m just a fan.

      1. Spidey is a good read and the art is great. I’ve read the first two issues and I like how they’re self-contained stories – one and done.
        At the same time, I’m diggin’ ASM. I figure it’s only a matter of time before the wheels fall off of Peter’s life. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.

      2. Spidey is right now the only spider-fam title im actually enjoying. I dropped Gwen and web warriors, considering dropping silk too. I’m still buying Spider-Man but it JUST started.
        I will say though, I will NEVER drop ASM. NEVER. Even if it sucks forever.

        1. I’m enjoying Silk. I only picked up Spider-Gwen #1 just to have in PC.. I dropped her back in Vol. 1 though. Didn’t even bother with Web Warriors myself.

        2. I dropped Gwen when they relaunched it. I bought just about every variant of the first series so they lost a reader by rebooting it.

      1. I didnt even know they existed! I saw online that they have Forever evil and justice league ones. I need to find those ones!

    Also, just noticing a new trend on eBay, buyers promising to buy additional items to get you to accept lower best offers… And then not buying additional items… Don’t fall for it!
    Liking the uptick on NM98, holding onto all my copies though for future Deadpool movies and cameos….

      Yeah, I’d never fall for that. I’d ask them to submit best offer but commit to buy the other items first before accepting.

      1. It had never happened before to me until last week, and then it happened three times since. That is exactly what i did, told them to make best offer on all the items they were “considering”

    If I hadn’t bought variant covers and multiple issues, it wouldn’t have been too bad. The Escape from Monster Island and Power Rangers variants were not at the two shops I hit.

      Its just the paper print of the digital first. Cheaper to just get the digitals. It’s not very good.

  17. Hey Tony so since you are a big ninja turtles fan, I found a guy who has a ninja turtles #1 from 1984 or 85 wichever year lol. And he has it in NM- NM+ for $300. Is that a good deal? It cough my attention cuz my little boy is into the ninja turtles now lol.

    1. if its a true first print, that would be the deal of the century. however, there were sever later prints to this issue, as well as several counterfeits. but a true 1st print in that condition could be worth thousands

  18. Ok, first of all, I left my Wednesday pull comment under Tony’s pick’s post. Second, Mighty Thor #4 Hughes variant was a monster today! Bought 2 at cover and sold both for $45.00! What!?
    In addition, Cable & Deadpool 38, featuring the minor first appearance of Hydra Bob, who had a minor cameo in the Deadpool movie sold for $40.00 for me.

  19. Picked up the last copies of WW 49 Neal Adams and a Mighty Morphin 0 2nd today.
    I also found the Superman Wonder Woman 5 Steampunk variant from 2014. Minus the supes photobomb, this is a pretty good looking cover. Limited data on ebay (one sold listing for 50). Anyone know anything more about this book’s selling history? I wasn’t collecting when some of the steampunk covers got hot.

    1. I don’t read WW myself but I did pick up the Adams variant along with the Kim Jung variant.. I thought that was a pretty slick looking cover, WW ripping the head off the droid or robot. 🙂

    Star Wars 16 – action figure var
    Enormous 5 – this is one of my favourite books, I’m heavily invested in it, really hope it comes to fruition in the media. Not heard owt for a while…
    Citizen Jack – excellent book, feels like old school vertigo.
    2x power rangers 0 2nd print – to sell or not to sell? Can’t imagine these will have much long term value? Anyone tell me different, 1st prints have slowed right down. Personally I was to old when MMPR started so no personal interest. Sell then!
    Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn Adams covers.
    Power man and iron fist – hip hop. Infamous one of my favourite albums when I was 15 or so. And one of the best hip hop variants so far.
    Stray bullets of course..
    Dropped sex criminals- waits have been pissing me off and story has dropped of a bit I think. Not as witty and incentive as it once was maybe…
    And maybe a monster island boba, but like Tony says, I’m not holding out a lot of hope of getting this of the zenoscope web shop.
    Did score in the week with a bunch of walking dead backs, 67(1st arron), 83, 87, 88, 92, 95 (1st time negan is spoken of) for well bellow eBay prices. And a batman 655 b&w first Damian Wayne. And a batman and robin 8 (early Harley).
    Also beast wagon, anyone rate this, seems pretty awesome to me.

      1. Yeah it’s basically Orwells animal farm in a zoo. But wierd and very funny. Monkeys given bong hits by meat heads and rallying against the (zoo) system! Also art is amazing, up there at Enormous levels for me. Totally recommend it. Very original and not derivative.

      2. I really like Sex Criminals but yeah, if they keep having long gaps between issues, I’ll be dropping it as well.
        Speaking of long gaps, Marvel finally releasing Karnak #2 next week….. it’s been since last October. That’s unusual for the big publisers most of the time.

I do have Mad magazine #1 and the first Magazine size issue of Mad magazine so this fits in to that part of my collection.

  25. Found Vampirella issues #30 – 39 for $10 a pop all in Fine+ condition. Not too shabby. Also got an Eerie 36 in VF+ for $4. FOUR BUCKS. Love me some horror!

  26. Just had time to go to only one store today. Only new pickup for me today was Power Rangers #0 2nd the store still had a lot more on the shelf, I already pre-ordered 2 but who knows if I will get them. So I may go back this weekend and grab a couple more if they are still there. Besides that I got the 2nd prints for Batman/TMNT #1 and #2. Next week looks a little bit bigger for me.

  27. Update on the escape from monster island cosplay zenoscope web shop issue..
    Apparently there was a glitch in the site that allowed people to put orders in for more than one copy. People have been getting emails cancelling the multiple orders.
    I’ve not had an email so hopefully I’m still getting a copy, I don’t know if it’s still possible to order of the website but I thought I’d give everyone a heads up incase it is.
    The up side of this is that with less people with multiple orders to flip, more books going into PCs, this could make it even more scarce/valuable…

    1. Thanks Gonzo. Just got the same email. Responded to them that it was not only limited to 1 per person but also allowed me to place 1000 copies in my cart when I tested to see how many copies they had left.
