Each week hundreds of new comics hit the shelves, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 3/23/16:
Returning Favorites
Sons of the Devil #6– Was worried this had ended, I love this book. Supernatural noir at its best.
Birthright #15– Joshua Williamson’s epic fantasy book. One of my favorites each month. I am going for the James Stokoe cover.
Cry Havoc #3– Simon Spurrior’s new book has had a great start. Really enjoying this supernatural military book.
Klaus #4– Ultimate Santa returns. Funny that it is the middle of March and I am still interested in a Christmas related book, but it is Grant Morrison
Outcast #17– TV show has already been picked up for a second season, and it hasn’t even aired yet. The comic is still a good (but slow) read.
The New Image #1
Circuit Breaker #1– A little cutesy for my taste but has the incredibly talented Kyle Baker on it.
Small(er) Press Gem
Shadow Glass #1– I love witchcraft in New England. Well, I love the stories. A young student of England’s greatest occultist learns her real father is in league with the devil. When Rose finds out that the man who raised her isn’t her father, she ignores his warnings about the terrible secrets of her own past and seeks answers from her childhood teacher Dr. John Dee, the queen’s occult adviser.
Small Press Pick of the Week
Oh Hell #1– Mel had this in his Big Gems from the Small press a few months back. The book looks good, and it is from Overground, so you know the print run will be small. What’s it about? Here you go: Angela’s parents have had it with her, and are shipping her off to boarding school. What no one knows? The school is in Hell, where it’s pass or fail
The One With The Media Tie-in
Independence Day #1– I loved the first movie. Looking forward to the second, looking forward to the smaller print run movie related book.
The Pick of the Week
Batman #50– No denying this is going to be a good book. Scott Snyder’s run is coming to an end but this series will always be a fondly looked upon and desired run. Back issues have mostly appreciated in value.
The Cover of the Week
Totally Awesome Hulk #4– Man this Frank Cho cover just is funny. #Outrage
That’s it for us this week. Let us know what you are spec-ing on.

I picked up the Oh Hell Kickstarter variant from the creator at Amazing comic con. Decent story and quality art, definite potential.
Looking forward to Son’s of the Devil starting back up again.
