Thanks to Kevin for this one.
So Marvel has Deadpool and DC has Harley. By far the two hottest characters in existence in the comic book world. In the most recent Harley Quinn issue, DC creates a Deadpool of their own.
Don’t get me wrong, I know Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, is a derivative character of DC’s own Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. But DC has now slid in a first appearance of their own derivative character, Red Tool.
The character was talked about being in Harley Quinn #27, he is even on the cover (there is also a nice John Romita Jr. variant) for it however, he appears in three pages of Harley Quinn #26. There is also a 1:25 variant on this one which could be difficult to find.
This includes his origin. See below:
Cheesy, yes, but surprised it took DC so long. Now I wonder if Marvel will reciprocate.

Now the question is, would this consider his 1st app or cameo?
Ack! Don’t start. Lol. I think it’s first appearance and origin.

I like Marley Sin that soynd Awesome
well seeing as deadpool was originally marvels answer to deathstroke…. turnabout is fair play
I was wondering why I couldn’t find the standard cover of this issue anywhere.
Wow great news. I was lucky enough to find 2 1:25 variants. I was going to sell it too, but now I am going to hold on, and see how this character plays out.
All I know is that 1:25 is a pricey book now $100+. Have an order pending for 1 when it was lower (keep fingers crossed it actually ships!) Nice to know its more than Harleys new hairdo pushing this.
I actually pre-ordered a ton of this book, hoping it would get some attention for Harley Quinn’s likeness being altered to mirror the movie. This is just an added bonus, that will hopefully help it along. š
I am actually a Reader of Harley Quinn, and I enjoy it for the most part. I was recently feeling like the book was getting crowded, and Harley had too much competition for screen time, but with the Gang Of Harleys spinning off into their own book, there will be a lot more breathing room.
I think it’s funny that the similarities between Deadpool and Harley are overwhelming. Gang of Harley’s, Mercs for Money. Just one example looking forward to Marvel’s response to Redtool.

Yeah, and it’s also funny how the Timing of these introductions are So Close to one another, it can’t be a coincidence. With the similarities between their Big Events, too, it’s almost like they want to copy each other; or that creators are sharing ideas in advance, and then each puts their own spin on the concept, to see who pulls it off better.
Also, Red Tool actually appears on 5 pages of this issue. The 2 pages preceding the Origin story show him prior to the bandages, and his real name is Wayne Wilkins.
Thanks for the added info. I haven’t been to the store yet to pick one up.
1:25 variant might be most unexpected hot new comic of the week? Previews catalog didn’t give advance warning. Most websites didn’t mention Red Tool until after comic is on sale at stores.
Everyone knew he would be in #27. He is in the story description and on the cover. People did not know he would be in #26.
