Wolverine Sequel to be in Future. More Clues to Support Old Man Logan?

Time to start dusting off those Wolverine #66 if you have them (thankfully I haven’t sold mine yet) because a little hint was dropped that could support the Wolverine Sequel could be based off Old Man Logan.
From Comicbook.com:

Producer Simon Kinberg has revealed that The Wolverine 3 will be set in the future of the X-Men movies timeline.
Kinberg let the news slip while speaking to cinemablend, saying, “The Wolverine movie takes place in the future.”
The confirmation would seem to backup rumors that The Wolverine 3 will be inspired by the story “Old Man Logan,” by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. That story took place in a dystopian future where the villains had finally won, and Mysterio had tricked Wolverine into murdering the X-Men.

I know this theory has been moved from “Debunke” to active and back, but with this being the last time Hugh Jackman plays the title character, there is a good chance it could be made. Of course, and due to licensing, they would need to switch a lot of the characters involved around, but it would not be the first time Fox has done so in one of their X-Men movies.

  1. I’d be happy with Old Man Logan, but all I want to see on the big screen is the awesome power of the spider buggy. That was the only comic that made me feel like the spidey car was actually relevant and useful.

      1. Okay I’ll give you that. Venom dinosaur and crazy massive hulk were awesome. But cmon, nobody expected spideys car would be cool at all

  2. Excited about this! I always check for the Old Man Logan books when I’m out, but they’re pretty hard to find. I usually find Wolverine 65 and then it jumps to 73. So far I have 2 full runs that I got for cover price.

  3. “Inspired by;” not “based on” Logan will be an old man but nothing else will be from the comic book story.

    1. I am sure they will bring some elements over other than just having an Old Wolverine. Some things they just cannot contractually do
