Russo Brothers to Adapt Remender's Deadly Class.

Deadly Class, the awesome comic by Rick Remender about a school that trains the next generation of assassins, and also awesome homage to Rick Rememder’s life in the 80’s, is being adapted by the Russo brothers for TV.
From Deadline.com

Just as comic book fans are descending on San Diego for Comic-Con, I hear a TV series adaptation of Image Comics’ Deadly Class has come together with the comic’s co-creator/writer Rick Remender and Captain America and The Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The package is set at Sony Pictures TV and is expected to be taken out shortly, targeting cable networks and streaming services.
Written by Remender and Miles Feld, the Deadly Class TV series is an unlikely coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of late 80’s counter culture which follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins. Maintaining his moral code while navigating a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal.

Copies of Deadly Class 1 quickly jumped off eBay with prices pushing $19.99. Copies of the A cover are being listed for $49.99 or best offer, but of course this is listing prices. It remains to be seen what they sell for. The estimated print run on the book 34,572 (number of copies sold through Diamond), but this number could have been pushed up due to several retailer exclusives (remember when Image used to do that?).
Thanks to comic book genius Brian Springman (again) and Mel. V for the heads up

  1. Nice. Big fan of the book. Hopefully with the Russo’s behind it it’ll actually get through development hell… unlike the other 99% of these announced projects.

    1. Doesn’t tell you what the shipping charge is before it charges you, pretty scary as it is in the UK anyone know anything about their shipping charges?

      1. When you place an order with them, they will within 1-2 days send you an email with the cost to ship. Once you receive that email which included the shipping cost, you can then tell them to approve the order or cancel the order.

  2. Like Alana said, Amazon does have multiples up for sale, cheaper than Ebay… If this news gets hot that won’t last long.

  3. What’s up guys. This is great news a couple of weeks ago when I was in my main comic shop I saw that they had pretty much a complete run of this, so I just called them up and told them to put #1- #12 in my pullbox for me. Any key issues we should be on the lookout for? SDCC is going on and I’m stuck with very limited internet for at least another week….that sucks.

    1. Will have to pull my collection to see keys. Issue one introduces most of the core cast and there are a couple of villain appearances that happen later.

  4. One of my favorite series. Already had 2 #1s one is signed by Wes Craig. Ordered a cover B today, if the last issue is any indication it might become the one that gets sought after.

  5. Great news. I have the complete first arc. So I am set if the news spread and the book gets up in price.

    1. I cannot find additional copies anywhere in my area. I have been a reader on the series but do not want to sell those.
