Diamond Comics Distributor has sent out notification that they have sent out Snot Girl #1 2nd Prints a week early accidentally.
Diamond has asked that retailers not put the comics out for sale until the following week.

It’s not like it’s a unreleased new story.. is it really that big a deal since it’s a 2nd print?
I agree, i don’t understand what the big deal is if they sell one week before the release date if it’s shipped to all the retailers. They didn’t make the retailers who got Hillbilly 2 a week earlier than others to not sell the comic.
Honestly, I think sometimes these tactics are used by Diamond to see who sets them out and who doesn’t. Secret shoppers are out there.. at least according to one shop owner I know in my area.
My wife has secret shopped for them before

They attempted to but the cat was out of the bag on that one. Then they changed their minds I believe. Had happened numerous times.

I really don’t get it either. Unless it’s so all customers have an equal shot at something that was supposed to be out next week. Maybe someone doesn’t go to their LCS this week because this book was supposed to be released next. Come next week though, the printing is gone?
There’s going to be spoilers…Ha!
Oh, Diamond. Of course retailers will listen to you and cover YOUR ass for YOUR mistake. I mean, what are friends for?
My LCS got tons of damages comics last week. Did anyone experience this issue too last week? They tell me Diamond is really bad about packaging.
My shop has often complained about this also. They didn’t say anything last week and all of my comics were in their standard condition but this seems to be an ongoing issue with Diamond.
Gotta remember….. they’re making the same amount on each book, whether it’s a gem mint 10.0 or 0.5…. they’re never going to care about shipping, the day they do care and it ups their costs with extra care, materials, we all see an increase in the price of our comics.
They have to eat the costs of shipping back damaged books though don’t they?
That I’m not sure of. I’d imagine so.
Yeah, my local retailer had it particularly bad that week. There are ALWAYS damaged books every single week, but that week I remember almost every title being damaged. It was crazy bad. And I feel bad because I end up having to buy books elsewhere, which hurts my LCS, when it isn’t Their Fault that the books arrive heavily damaged. I do order most of my books from DCBS, but always leave out a bunch of mainstream books that I plan to buy at my LCS just to support them; and titles I know they will have copies of; but Diamond screws that up sometimes…
My LCS must not have got the memo, because they were out. And he normally follows the rules closely.
