HookJaw Cover Art Released

As a huge Jaws fan, one book I am really looking forward to is HookJaw coming out from Titan Comics. HookJaw was a serial released in Action #1 (a British publication not the DC one) that was so gory it was banned. The original story is hard to find as a result. Si Spurrier, who recently did Cry Havok and previously worked on Six Gun Gorilla has reimagined the story and it will be coming out shortly. We previously ran the promo art, but the covers to the series are out and I am really excited for this one.

The mini-series is set to be an intense modern iteration of the titular ocean predator, which debuted in legendary British comic (and forerunner to 2000AD) Action #1. Initially inspired by the success of the film, Jaws, Hookjaw was one of many Action strips so violent it was banned from the shelves upon release!
This razor-sharp new title re-surfaces with a range of variant covers to collect from phenomenal artists including; Conor Boyle, John McCrea (The Mummy), Marc Laming (Uncanny Avengers), Anna Dittmann, and Steve White.

  1. I love Jaws, this is right up my alley. I like watching Jaws and Shark Week when I’m at the beach as well..

      1. Two summers in a row, it just so happened shark week was going on, so we always had something to watch at the condo at night. It was great.

  2. A shark with a spear coming out of it’s mouth that it uses to harpoon people before eating them? Yes please.

  3. When I was a kid at school on rainy playtime back in the 70s, sitting in the hall, reading comics, these Action comics were the ones that all the boys tried to get there hands on! Don’t think the teachers realised they had been donated into the box, if they did I am sure they would have taken them away from us!!
