Adam Warlock to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Ever since what appeared to be Adam Warlock’s cocoon appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, people have been spec-ing that he would be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Confirmation  came out that he will be in Guardians 3.
Adam Warlock first appears as “Him” in cocoon form in Fantastic Four #66 (mentioned but not shown) and Fantastic Four #67 (first appearance). He first appears out of the cocoon as Him in Thor #165. He later appears as Adam Warlock in Marvel Premiere #1. (Confused yet?)

Speaking with director James Gunn and Marvel Studio’s Kevin Feige at a press junket for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, /Film’s Peter Sciretta confirmed that plans are being made to bring Warlock into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
Gunn doesn’t explicitly mention the third Guardians film to /Film, but given that he himself is developing Warlock’s cinematic debut and announced earlier this week he would return to write and direct Guardians 3, the logical conclusion is that Adam is being saved for Guardians 3. This was indeed confirmed by Kevin Feige, speaking to our very own Germain Lussier at the same junket today.
Many fans expected Warlock to perhaps appear in Avengers: Infinity War due to the character’s major role in the original comic book storylines Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War—in which Warlock helps the heroes of the Marvel universe defeat Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, only to take the Gauntlet to safeguard it for himself and accidentally create an evil splinter of his own psyche, Magus.

  1. FF 67 and Thor 165 are both good to get but I would look at FF 67 as the “goodest” one…picked up a few mid grades of 67 a few years back pretty cheap… Hope this shoots them up a bit!…also if you think Warlocks official first appearance is confusing wait until Marvel uses Shuma Gorath (if they ever do)…first he is mentioned then he is a disembodied voice then he is talking through his minions (I think) then he appears…Talk about all over the place.

  2. Oh, don’t forget about the FF #67 JC Penny reprint… Not tons out there and getting hard to find in high grade…just a thought.

  3. Just a random thought or wishful thinking..could GOTG 3 be the conclusion to Avengers, Infinity War as it intially was to be a two part movie, and then leaving the un-named Avengers movie to be titled Avengers, World War Hulk?

  4. Marvel Premiere #1 is the first appearance. Lee and Kirby had no cosmic vision of the character, Roy Thomas introduced the Warlock that we know and made him a hero, and Jim Starlin really ran with it and made him a God
