The Diamond Comics Advance Reorder List is a great speculator tool. It shows what books retailers are going back to get more of, in advance of their release. They are actually putting their money up betting these books get big. These are the books people are talking about in shops, message boards, and websites. Here is the Diamond Comics Advance for 4/24/17:
Seriously though, how is the Image 25th anniversary box still on the list this many weeks after it was announced as 1,992 copies? and on top of the list to boot. In news about books you can get, the Spawn month books are getting love. The 2nd printing non-racist X-Men Gold #1 as well as a second printing of X-Men Prime #1 by Syaf are getting attention. Deadpool #30 is at $10 book… and new Image Series Regression is getting some love. On with the list….

Hmm. Retailers everywhere keep ordering more of that limited Blind Box in hopes of increasing their chances to get at least one of them, thinking whichever retailer orders the *most* will be more likely to actually get one… so Image decides with such overwhelming demand they will produce 100,000 copies of the Blind Box to fill retailer orders… and retailers everywhere have a mass panic attack as they cant actually afford them in their budget, and cant sell them because they’re now worthless with so many copies out there. Obviously, Image wouldn’t do that, but with all the comments Image and its top Creators make about the games the big 2 play with retailers, doesn’t Image just turn around and do the same thing to make retailers jump through hoops? And deriding mainstream comics about having so many Variants (which Image has now made a regular thing every single month) and claiming to halt reprints in the future (with nearly ever Image title getting multiple printings)? Image has some awesome books, but in the future they should keep their mouth shut on a lot of topics because it just makes them look like arrogant hypocrites.
That’s Eric Stephenson for you.
