Secret Empire #5 is in stores tomorrow. The images are obscured behind the spoiler warnings, the text is not obscured. Only proceed if you don’t mind being spoiled.
Secret Empire has two big characters returning from the dead. Not sure if they are the classic ones we know and love or time displaced ones, because lets be honest, it is all possible with Marvel.
We took a break from spoilers last issue, the “Dinner with Ultron” issue. So we pick up pretty much where we left off with issue #3
Black Widow finds herself captured by Viper
She spills the plan easily, but has something up her sleeve, Viper knows…
Black Widow puts her plan into action
Meanwhile, Ironheart and Falcon are on a rescue mission.
to save this guy?
While time displaced Steve Rogers is out chumming it up with the guys…
Until this happens…
and we get our first big reveal of the issue. Someone is not so dead (or another time displaced character….)
Unworthy Thor is having a crisis of confidence….
Because Captain Hydra has his hammer
And finally…
Captain Hydra reveals what his secret weapon to end all this is…..
That guy.

Kill, Rinse, Recycle, Repeat.. who doesn’t love dead characters that come back to life?
616 Wolverine, surprisingly still dead. Not bad.
Am I supposed to be shocked? It was so goddamn obviously telegraphed because of Hawkeye being on the cover all fucking shocked and shit and a bunch of heroes lying around zonked out. More shock value garbage and McCoy can go fuck himself, Nazi sympathizing shit. Seriously, every so called hero who now associates themselves with Hydra because Steve Rogers okays it is poison fruit and will forever be seen as such. Spencer fucked them over for decades to come now. Fuck him and fuck this event/
This does it. I am officially done with Marvel.
This is a huge reminder of why I don’t read Marvel books. Way to go in shocking absolutely nobody. Bravo, Marvel, bravo.
I am not being sarcastic and am genuinely curious when I ask this:
Is anyone who is reading Secret Empire enjoying it? Does it have any redeeming qualities?
It’s okay. Nothing special. I haven’t been “wowed” by it, but I wasn’t expecting much. It feels like “Age of Ultron” where it is taking place in a different reality. But, as far as we know, this is the 616 universe.
