DC has been killing it with their cover price variant program featuring some of the best artists.
Supergirl #16 is another prime example.
Artgerm takes a more “girl next door” feel with the wonderfully done Supergirl #16. You can see the full art below.
Supergirl #16 goes on sale 12/13/17.

Wonder when Marvel follows suits and gets some artist to move the needle, whether that be on the cover or interiors.
Give them about a year or two. They run behind DC’s good ideas by about that much time.
Well, I honestly think Marvel has some great covers and artists as well. DC is using this to push sales of a comic that not so many normally read (I don’t read Supergirl, does anyone here actually read Supergirl?). Sadly, sex appeal sells.
Marvel does have some great artist, but I find myself picking up a lot of DC B covers that dont have sex appeal. Looking at Joshua Middleton/Jenny Frison/etc are some good ones. Then of course you got Frank Cho on Harley lol
It’s really amazing artwork. The light effect he has going is crazy!
Stunning
The only problem now is, shops and people are catching on. These are getting easier and easier to get. So grab the copy for yourself, maybe grab a few extra if you can get them signed.. but these aren’t gonna be flip worthy at this rate.
Yep. I went a bit hog wild on #14 and am still sitting on copies, but the secret was out on that one after the way 13 exploded. Though I did think there would’ve been a bit more demand given 14’s particular “gimmick”
More amazing work. Love it.
i wouldnt call this sex appeal. Artgerm does fantastic not sexualized stuff. I personally think that his guys are better than his girls
I agree. I see resonating beauty from his artwork, but the poses, outfits, and expressions do not exhibit the sex appeal seen on covers that are going for the “sex sells” approach. Very tasteful, and deserving of appreciation.
Already have a couple of these pre-ordered, but I like #15 better.
