Comics Picks of the Week for November 1, 2017

Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the weeks for delivery 11/1/17:Happy Halloween everyone. It is my favorite time of year. Sadly, publishers have skimped over the horror books this season. But here are the treats, no tricks, for the week.         Note: November 1, 2017 is one of the dreaded “fifth weeks” (last week seemed like one too) so it will be a light week.
Returning Favorites
Batman White Night #2 – Sean Murphy was off with a bang on the first issue. A sane Joker and an overly obsessed Batman. Awesome.
Spread #23 – My favorite book is coming to a close, but going out in style as more about the Spread is revealed.
Paper Girls #17 – One of the most unique stories on the market, it is BKV after all.
Stray Bullets Sunshine and Roses #29 – I love crime as much as horror. This is a funny, quirky crime story set in my hometown of Baltimore Maryland (aka Bodymore Murderland).
The Odd DC One on the List

Deadman #1 – Glow in the dark cover, check, Neal Adams art, check. I am in.
The One With the Walking and the Dead

Walking Dead #173 – Spoilers last month revealed the return of a big bad, and Jesus in trouble. Could this be the end?
New Image #1’s

No 1 With a Bullet #1 – Interesting premise, online buzz, worth grabbing a copy.

Gravediggers Union #1 – I rather like Toby Cyprus, grab a retailers appreciation variant if you can find one.
The Pick of the Week

The Willows One Shot – I alluded to this one being my pick of the week in the New Comic Spec Review Video. Small press book that will be under ordered. HP Lovecraft related. I see this as having growth potential.
That is it for us this week, in case you missed it, here is this weeks New Comic Spec Review Video for 11/1/17:
