More than seven months after she joined the cast of Marvel’s Iron Fist, we now know who Star Trek Into Darkness co-star Alice Eve plays in the second season of the Netflix drama: Daredevil foe Typhoid Mary.
The announcement was made this evening during the show’s presentation at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Introduced in 1988 by Ann Nocenti and John Romita Jr. in Marvel’s Daredevil #254, Typhoid Mary is an enemy and former lover of Matt Murdock who possesses low-level psionic powers — pyrokinesis, telekinesis, limited mind control — as well as finely honed athletic and martial-arts abilities.
An assassin who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, Mary Walker manifests three additional personalities: the quiet and timid “Mary,” the lustful and violent “Typhoid” and the sadistic “Bloody Mary.”
“It was very, very violent,” Eve said of her role. “The reason I took the role was because I got to play someone with multiple personalities.”
