SDCC: Aqua Man Trailer Debuts

DC dropped another big movie trailer today, this time it is Aquaman. Check it out below and let us know what you think:

I love the scene in the aquarium joking about “Arthur talking to the fish”.

  1. Looks great .. right or wrong, I have always considered Aquaman a 2nd string Character in the DC Universe .. and, I had my doubts about the film .. however, if the film itself holds up to the trailer, it should be quite a ride .. hopefully, more Love will be generated for the DCU on the Big Screen ..

Marvel seems to always get the Big Love .. yet, the DCU has compelling characters that with the right treatment, should and could be Box Office Gold a la Wonder Woman ..

    1. 2nd string, Willy? Thats being awfully generous. But, ill have to agree that thattrailer did not look bad.

      1. Trailer looked pretty decent. I have to agree that Aquaman’s name recognition is A….everyone does know who he is. The quality of material is a B…there’s just not that many key stories. The fan popularity puts him at at a C. This looks good, but DC still refuses to reconcile a dark haired aquaman with their blonde haired original creation. The disconnect and riduclousness is of the first order. Does no one watch over this for DC…..so puzzling to me.

      2. The Hair Color used will not prevent me from rooting that the film does well, nor will it dissuade me from shelling out to see it .. I really, really want to see DCU succeed in film .. to me, the Christopher Reeve Superman and the Michael Keaton Batman laid the foundation for where we are now ..

Back when Marvel was about Bankrupt, DCU was the leading player ..

        1. Yup. Reeve Superman and Keaton Batman was where it was at. I owned stock in Marvel too. For the longest time. Until Disney bought them out.

      3. I’ll still certainly see it regardless of hair color. It just seems so sloppy to me though—it would take so little to address it. I too would like the DCU to get their act together on the big screen and make those killer blockbusters we all want to see. I think that’s the point though—-DC refuses to look at the minutiae of things…and after they add up all of those “tiny” inconsistencies, they lead to big problems.

    2. Although I don’t disagree, at the same time, I don’t think Marvel has had absolute perfection .. 😉

  2. I don’t know if anyone remembers the HBO series “Entourage” .. one of the plot lines back then had the lead character doing an “Aquaman” film ..

      1. Yeah, it seems like there were even a few “scenes” from the film .. but, then again, my memory is not what it used to be ..
