Time to hit the local shops and search the shelves or recent issue bins fo this book. Die #1 has been creeping up in price lately and is a good chance for a flip if yo can find them in stores.
The Stephanie Hans variant of Die #1 has creeped up to a $12-$15 book. The McKelvie Variant is doing less and selling in the $4-$9 range.
The Han variant is definitely the one to grab and flip if you can find it.
We have mentioned that the book has gone back for a second, third, and fourth printing. So this has become a popular books.
Just went out and bought the Hans and McKelvie covers for cover price at my LCS! Both are NM. Thanks for the heads up!!
Nice.
Yeah, my cardinal rule: If it goes to a 3rd print be on the lookout. 4th print= buy, buy, buy. Sex Criminals, Chew, Saga, etc.
Image Comics’ 2016 series The Fix got five printings of its first issue, but these days none of the editions are really worth anything. Personally, I’m very cautious about Die, as it really feels like a bubble to me rather than a long-term investment. At least two stores in my vicinity still have Hans first print covers available at cover price, suggesting that demand isn’t as high as internet spec believes it is.
Just curious people’s thoughts on Middlewest printings…3rd or 4th printing right? Some of my area shops still have first prints. Reading it…fun. Will it go anywhere $$? Die 1 was sitting for weeks and I smirked as the instant flippers rummaged right past it. Picked up 1 and 2 and traded for Venom #165 variant at an LCS who hadn’t ordered any. Not sure who got the better trade now. Always appreciative when I sit calmly and look around the house….we sure are fortunate. Helps chill “the don’t want to miss out nerves.”
Middlewest is starting to trend up in price. This kind of books grows on people enjoying the read, causing it to be a slower burn.
