What Up CHU? Mel V. back with your weekly Variant Picks for 5/22/19. This is definitely an upgrade from last weeks list as last week was probably the lightest week ever for variants. Before we get into the variants, I would like to give a shout out to East Coast Comic Con, which was this past weekend. Be on the look out for my review coming soon, but in short East Coast Comic con has the potential to take over Baltimore Comic Con as the premier Convention (other than NYCC of course) of the on the East Coast. Great Vendors, great deals, great guests… but seriously, stay tuned for the review. Now lets get into variants for the week
Avengers Vol 7 19 Cover B Variant Maxx Lim Marvel Battle Lines Cover – Again I don’t usually put theme variants on the list, but Blade doesn’t get much cover love so I had to throw this on here. Plus it looks amazing. I think all the battle line covers look great as a set, I may have to get a full run
Flash Vol 5 #71 Cover B Variant Derrick Chew Cover – Even though DC Cover B’s have seemed to have cooled off on the aftermarket, there are still some great ones coming out. This Chew is one of them. The Flash action scene is done very well in my opinion.
Goon Vol 4 #2 Cover B Variant Alex Ross Cardstock Cover – Alex Ross is hot as any artist can be and with the recent announcement of the Goon movie deal, this could be a sleeper cover of the week. Add to it it’s a #2 as well as a $6.99 price tag, this could be something
War Of The Realms New Agents Of Atlas #2 Cover B Incentive Ron Lim Variant Cover – New Agents of Atlas is on fire right now, look at what the 1:25 and 1:50 for issue #1 is doing. Again, you have to anticipate the #2 fall off in ordering from retailers that could make this tough to find .
No love for the Carnage Battle lines Variant, Mel? I think its the cover of the week, not for spec, but in general.
to be honest I could list all the battle line variants they look awesome lol
HAha take over Awesome Con maybe but not the Bmore Comic Con ,,, helllzzz tooo daaa nahhhh dude ,, wuts u on !???!
Bmore wildin out by making it after nycc ..plus they about too redo the convention center …Come on thru East Coast Comic con ..
It’s true. Moving it after NYCC is going to hurt business some. Plus, like Mel said, rumors of it being moved next year could put a damper on it. Speaking with retailers at Baltimore last year, many go to load up on books to sell at NYCC. With it being after NY, many retailers said it wasn’t worth it.
east coast is the bomb.great guests great props .and give east coast two to three years and it will be a force to be recken with.love you all blind adam out
