  1. That book is about to go HAM including the 2nd print. Issue 1 and 9. Glad I didn’t sell mine.

  2. CM #8 3rd print is much harder to find then the 2nd. Was already selling at a premium.

All red cover make 9.8 harder to come by as well.

The variant and the 3rd print may be the way to go me thinks.

    1. Bro, quit pumping. MyComicShop and Midtown still have copies. It’s not even sold out at Diamond.

      1. I was going by eBay prices bud. The 1:25 variant is selling above ratio and the 3rd print is listed at 8.99$+ and nowhere near as many as the amount of 2nd prints listed on the bay.

And just so you know, because you sem the type who likes to jump to conclusions, I have a copy of CM #8 A+B and one copy of the 2nd prt and one copy of the 3rd print and they are not up for sale.

        So no pumping here bud!

  3. any idea which book will be the overall winner with so many to choose from; CM8 has cover A, B variant, Unknown Comics virgin variant, 2nd print, 3rd print or CM1?

    1. CM8 1:25 variant & CM1 1:100 variant are winners. Maybe the Walmart variant to CM1 also.

        1. Yup. It’s too bad Marvel never did an additional printing of Captain Marvel #1 with her on the cover.

          1. I regret selling my Walmart variants…but held onto copies of #8, I like the 2nd print most of all, though.

    2. The winners will be the ratio variant for sure. Store variants don’t usually hold much value.

Although one of them is a virgin variant of the In Hyuk Lee variant so that might have some heat.

  4. People only bought CM #8 and #9 because of spec. Obviously, #9 was false spec but people still tried to flip it like a crook, because they actually didn’t read the story. The writing was not appealing and the Star series has the same writer. Who knows what happens to Star the character when sales of the Star series is lacking. I won’t be holding on to my #8s for long because this character may only be spec-driven.

  5. I have to admit though, I do like her look. Her costume.

I think the star form on the shoulder part and the cape is what does it.

Capes are seen less and less.

She has that old school look but for modern times.

I can’t really explain it, but I dig it!

  6. As of writing this, both Mycomicshop and Midtown have the third print Captain Marvel #8 for cover.

    1. MSC one’s are gone. You can add them to your cart, but they disappear when you try to check out.

      1. They still show for sale at Midtown. 15% off cover. I bought some earlier and had no trouble checking out. Didn’t go nuts but it didn’t seem that they were restricting copies.

        1. I was able to checkout with 3rd prt copies in my cart at MCS.

I didn’t pull the trigger as I got a better deal on price and shipping from midtown.

  7. So she is good now? I thought she was turning into Dark Star eventually. Thought that would be cool.

  8. If they didn’t name her the door is still open that it turns out to be Carol Danvers changing names and costumes again as the son of Captain Marvel returns in December and probably wants the name back. I’ve been expecting a new series named Star with Carol under the mask since her public identity as CM has been trashed by the evil Ripley. We should know more on the 15th when the next issue comes out and we see if Ripley lives thru it.

    1. No. Its ripley. Its the star character. I beleive what was said is “our newest addition Star is getting her first series”

      1. Yeah, they wouldn’t refer to Captain Marvel as a new addition. Plus, I think changing Carol Danvers hero name once again would be character suicide…. Not with all the movies they have planned, etc. Danvers is Cap Marvel for the long haul.

  9. “Ambitious reporter Ripley Ryan was one of the victims caught up in Nuclear Man’s apocalyptic schemes and later became the hero STAR, adored by everyone. But in truth she was Dr. Minerva’s attempt at a Kree-human Super-Soldier. Desperate for the power and strength to control her own destiny, she tried to kill Captain Marvel — and failed. Ripley was left, defeated and powerless, in the Raft. But something strange has happened, and Star now finds herself more powerful than ever before. And no one in the Marvel Universe is prepared for what it means.”

That confirms my expectations that she has to end up dead or in jail at the end of the fight in #11. Now to see what the big twist is that gives her a new power source once she’s removed from the city’s people she infected that’s currently powering her. Apparently #11 has a big surprise twist coming to shake things up after she’s in jail.

I still think Carol’s changing names and we already know she’s getting at least one costume change by issue 12. I don’t rule out some shenanigans taking place that have Ripley and Carol brain switched/exchanged. Maybe that’s the big twist. Only 10 days to go. I increased my order for #11 just to make sure there’s enough on hand just now.
