there is no debate. 181 is the 1st full appearance because wolverine is in throughout the whole comic book. not 180.
Correct, no debate. In 180 he is shown in full and named. That is a 1st full appearance. Not a long appearance and not a cover appearance but a first full one for sure.
180 is a first appearance. That we can all agree with. 181 is the book worth the most because he is front and center on the cover, and front and center in the story. No debate there either.

I think the true believers reprint of 181 also had the final page of 180….but I’ll need to check.
Turns out the True Believers 181 reprint had an excerpt of Wolverines appearance in 182…so I had it backwards.

181 will always be the book to own for Wolverine. 180 is a nice consolation.
181 the current market has decided however 180 used to be the go to and more expensive book. This one has always been a crazy one.
