As promised, the Runners-Up list, think of these as the second part of the Top 20. Now then, on to #11-20.
#11 Ghost Rider #1 Adams Variant – We absolutely love Art Adams. He’s an awesome dude and has a uniquely recognizable art style… even for a tough character like Ghost Rider. This sold 28 copies, had a 7-day trend of 86% and had a high raw sale of $27.
#12 House of X #3 – Collector’s simply need this connecting cover to complete the full image. The easiest way to do that is to buy one online. So, many did just that. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 100% and had a high raw sale of $10.
#13 House of X #4 – Ditto. It sold 23 copies, had a 7-day trend of 104% and had a high raw sale of $13.
#14 Gideon Falls #1 Virgin Variant – We mentioned in the newsletter how James Wan is now attached to bring this book to TV. This virgin variant saw a nice uptick in sales and sold 12 copies, had a 7-day trend of 204% and had a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8.
#15 Spider-Verse #1 Patrick Brown Variant – This is just a fun variant with many of the most popular Spider-verse characters. While it’s not going crazy price-wise, it’s been a solid selling with 38 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 62% and had a high raw sale of $30.
#16 Micronauts #1 – Paramount and Hasbro are bringing a Micronauts Live-action film to theatres. With that news, this first issue sold 22 copies, had a 7-day trend of 106% and had a high sale of $217 for a CGC 9.8.
#17 Moon Knight #1 – This first issue to MK’s ongoing series is the most accessible book, compared to his first appearance and first solo book. It sold 29 copies, had a 7-day trend of 74% and had a high sale of $306 for a CGC 9.8.
#18 Powers Of X #2 – Yep, another connecting cover. Collectors are REALLY loving these. It sold 22 copies, had a 7-day trend of 99% and had a high raw sale of $16.
#19 House Of X #2– We don’t like to call brand new issues “key” until it’s had some time to stew a little bit and prove its staying power. However, this issue reveals Moira as a mutant and set off a whole new level of intrigue and long-term consequences to the world of mutants. It could be an important issue down the road. At the very least, it’s pretty darn important to the current HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X storylines. It sold 19 copies, had a 7-day trend of 108% and had a high raw sale of $26.
#20 Doc Savage #3 – Yeah, we were perplexed when Doc Savage #1 made the list. This one is even more of a head-scratcher. The fact that it sold 14 copies isn’t a fluke. Usually, various podcasts or youtube channel can talk about a book like this and get listeners/ viewers to pick up copies. Conversations around the Sony DOC SAVAGE film amidst all the Spider-Man conversations could be the reason. It had a 7-day trend of 147% and had a high raw sale of $10.
I wondered if the HOX/POX mini-series wrapping would cool interest in them as folk get interested in the ongoing books or would boost interest as they set a lot up. Seems interested is boosted!
