Blind Adam’s Hidden Gems Vol. 106

Greetings my Comics Heating Up family. Well the holidays are upon us. Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas, and happy life day to those practicing Jedis. Doomsday Clock #12, Batman Last Night on Earth #3, Killadelphia #1, Amazing Spiderman #37 and Marauders #3 are my reads of the week. Harley Quinn, all the CW Shows, Crisis and classic episodes of Batman the Animated Series are worth the watch. Disney plus, why only four episodes each of the X-Men? Love you all thanks for reading and listening, now, lets make money with comics because you can’t teach that.

1. Wonder Woman #55 (Volume 2 1987) Dr Psycho is on Harley Quinn. He is one of the best parts of the show. Tony Hale does a great job on the voice. George Perez cover and it is cheap, like dollar box cheap. Yes he had his first appearance in the Golden Age Wonder Woman #5. Dr Psycho is moving on up happy hunting

2. Overstreet Price Guide #18 – 2020 will be the year of the Overstreet Price Guide. It turns fifty years old. I do collect older price guides for the covers and for the information, plus Overstreet was my favorite book as a young teenager/adult. This has a Superman cover. Superman turned 50 in 1988, wow time flies and this is a cheap pick up $10 and up

3. Justice League of America #188 (Silver Age series) – I am so happy. After Wednesday no more Lifetime Christmas specials. No more Christmas music. No more Santa. Christmas is not fair to we jewish people or kids. We have the Rugrats Chanukah special and this classic issue of the JLA. It has the Atom and his wife at a Chanukah party with Batman. Batman is jewish (#testify) happy holidays everyone and if you know of other comics featuring Chanukah let me know $5-20

4. Peter Parker the Spectacular Spiderman #112 – classic Santa Claus cover. Santa wearing sunglasses and holding a machine gun nuff said $10

5. Wonder Woman #180 (volume 1) – that Wonder Woman 1984 trailer was awesomesauce. Steve Trevor died in the first movie. In this issue, Steve dies for the first time, he dies and comes back to life a lot but this is his first death. It is silver age and camp but still amazing for the time $10 and up

Bonus Issues:
6. Spawn #1 FCBD 2019 – Spawn is the hottest indy comic on the market right now. Between #300-301, a rumored movie, well believe it when I see it, as the Toddfather might need to kick start a Spawn movie I would lend and support that. Spawn is the longest running indy comic of all time and this reprint of Spawn #1 is super cheap why not?

7. Lucifer #5 (first series) – did everyone enjoy the Hellblazer Lucifer meeting in Crisis? Earth 666 is #awesomesauce. This is the only time I can find that Hellblazer and Lucifer were in the same comic and I thought the reference of Maze being helped by John was from a comic book. This is a cheap buy in $1-5 It is great for signatures as both Tom and Matt do conventions. SS baby, so happy hunting and hopefull we see Hellblazer show on Netflix someday

8. Flash TV Special #1 – it was amazing seeing John Westley as the Flash for the last time. Hoping he reappears as Jay in the Stargirl show. This one has three great stories, one written by Mark Waid before his work on the Flash #62 (volume 2) and has an episode guide and set photos. This is great for s.s.’s by John at conventions $10

9. GI Combat #274 – I have mentioned this book before. I will mention it again. The Monitor first cameos in New Teen Titans #21 then appears for the first time in full in this issue. The money shot is of course Crisis #1. I hope we get other CW Crisis events as well. Remember credit to Calamity Collectibles on Instagram. Crisis #6 is the first full Anti-Monitor $5-10

10. New Teen Titans Annual #2 – first Lyla Michaels aka Harbinger. CW is #awesomesauce, Crisis was epic. Ain’t spoiling it except for one of the cameos, so beware. Now, however. Lyla has been on Arrow for years. I never thought to hunt for her first appearance until now. She becomes Harbinger in Crisis #1 and dies protecting the Post-Crisis Supergirl in Superman Batman #10 all are cheap books $5-10 tops

Quick question before I go, how many bites do I take out of the damn Christmas cookies if I am playing Santa? One of my friends disagrees with me. She says two bites and put the cookie back on the plate. I think you eat the whole cookie and leave some of the glass of milk. Isn’t Santa a fat guy? Wouldn’t it make more sense that the fat man in the red suit eats a whole cookie?

Happy holidays and thanks for reading, for the love, and for the support

  1. Eat the cookie. Drink the milk…leave a few crumbs.

And don’t forget to leave a carrot out for Rudolph.

  2. BA you’re so money with this stuff man.

I say if it’s a good cookie then eat it all and if not a bite or two with the excuse that Santa has a lot more cookies to eat and doesn’t wanna full up. Hehe!!

There’s a couple Marvel holiday specials that have Hanukkah stories in them I remember one with magneto, Just not which ones. Doing a search should pull them up.

    Happy Holidays all!!!!

  3. On the cover to Spectacular Spidey #112, Santa is holding a Beretta hand gun, he is not holding a machine gun. And yes, it is a cool Christmas/Spidey cover.
