Tom King Announces Catwoman and Batman to have Baby

Tom King, who wrote Batman for 85 issues following the Rebirth event, took to Twitter with a picture of Batman standing next to Catwoman on a rooftop. But what took fans by surprise was Catwoman was holding her pregnant belly.

This is not the first time Bruce and Selena have had a child. In DC Superstars #17, we meet Helena Wayne, an alternate universe daughter who was the Huntress. This issue heated up with the Birds of Prey movie (even though she was not the Huntress in the film.)

King is writing the upcoming Catwoman and Batman series

Tom King’s Tweet is below.

A fan of King asked how long this was expected to take, which King quipped….

  1. “How long are we gonna have to wait” “another 85 issues?” Oh wait, 9 months is anywhere from 9-18 isnt it? So basically another year.

    1. I love Kings Batman. Great story. King is a beast. Kings writing skills dwarfs Danny Cotes’ skills, imo. Period. Kings Vision Maxi is one of the best reads in the last 20 years.

      1. I dropped Batman when King left. I only added it back for speculation with all the new appearances.

Yes, Kong’s stories tend to be more drama than action and drawn out. But for someone like myself who binge reads anyway, as i can’t recall what happened two to four weeks ago in a book, it fits my style.

I’m looking forward to his Bats & Cats story. Could care less what happens in the regular Batman title at the moment.

      2. King on Vision was great. King on Mister Miracle was great. King’s indie work, Sheriff of Babylon was great.. Most of King’s work has been great.. King on Batman.. I’d rather read Ikea Assembly Instructions for a new Entertainment Center than his run on Batman..

        1. And in there lies the beauty of individuality. If everyone liked, and did the same things…then this would be a very boring world to live in.

  2. since its first appearance in “The Damned #1” the bat-penis has been quite busy. No “anti-pregnancy bat condoms” in the utility belt?

      1. He’s Batman. He plans for every possible scenario. He has his baby ‘bat’ter in cryo and uses it when the time is right. He’s Batman…and he already has a biologically son.

  3. Um…I realize it’s 2020 and all…but do we want the happy couple sending the wrong message? Shouldn’t we have had “that marriage” before the baby bump? Or maybe the mini-series will correct all that and give us a true Bat/Cat wedding?! Actually, DC could have done a wild mini-series on just the wedding itself…a high society Gotham shindig featuring heroes and villains and mayhem galore. I’d pay to see that.

    1. Wrong message? What message is that? Don’t raw dog your enemy if you ain’t gonna pull out on time?

      1. That would be interesting…and send the value of Batman #89 ever higher. You might be on to something…

  4. Maybe this is all part of 5G. We just got a new Aquababy…now a Bat/Cat hybrid…it’s the next generation of DC characters. All the heroes & villains will suddenly start producing offspring.

  5. this explains the dollar reprint of brave&the bold #197.i do feel all star squadron #69 is undervalued and a great huntress key .and batman you have a planf or everything? really no bat morning after pill?no bat condom? we saw your wang in batman damned #1 love ya all blind adam out

  6. I can’t even…it’s time to reset. We’ve had zero year, year 1, year 2, year 3, year 100, and now baby year. Miscarriage is inevitable or Catwoman dies while preggers and Batman gets DARK for real. If Batman Damned was involved, it would Harley Quinn that was pregnant…with a ghost baby.
