sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )
1. BATMAN #89 – Punchline Mania is in full effect. Her first cameo sold 143 copies this week, with an average raw price of $39.46
2. YEAR OF THE VILLAIN HELL ARISEN #3 – More Punchline madness, her first full appearance sold 132 copies at an average raw price of $38.59
3. BATMAN #90 – Batman is hot and is dominating the market. Here we have the first full appearance of The Designer which moved 126 copies at an average raw price of $14.61
4. BATMAN DAMNED #1 – Onetime mainstay on the list appears again in the midst of Batman madness. Damned sold 30 copies at an average raw price of $45.00
5. BATMAN #89 Francesco Mattina Variant – Variant for the first cameo of Punchline. This one sold 69 units at an average raw price of $34.70
6. X-MEN #4 – First appearance of Omega Red. Coming to Disney+ from the rumors. Omega Red sold 52 copies at an average selling price of $17.25
7. WOLVERINE #1 C2E2 John Tyler Christopher Fluorescent Variant – The hottest con variant of the season. At the rate things are going it may be the only one. This one had 35 units trading hands with an average raw price of $89.00
8. COYOTES #1 – recently optioned werewolf book. We had this on our New #1 list back on 11/8/17 also with Port of Earth #1. Both have been optioned since then. Coyotes sold 30 copies with an average sale price of $8.81 raw. Midtown had signed copies of this as well.
9. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #361 – First appearance of Carnage. Carnage is in the spotlight as pictures from the movie have leaked out and Woody Harrelson doesn’t have the Ronald McDonald wig. This first appearance of Carnage moved 19 units at an average raw price of $82.14
10. BATMAN #90 CARD STOCK FRANCESCO MATTINA VARIANT – Batman takes up 60% of this week’s top ten list. This is the card stock variant to the first full appearance of the Designer which moved 54 units at an average raw price of $15.90
