Alright, let’s see if I can’t give a top ten list for comics without any automated system pulling and extracting the data for me. Just the good ‘ol fashion way of browsing eBay completed sales (because I looked at the eBay API and that’s just something I have zero desire to learn at the moment).
I’m not sure if this is going to be a weekly thing, it’s very time consuming but I found some spare time on this rainy Saturday afternoon.
These won’t be in actual order from 1 through 10 but just the top ten. And some still mirror Covrprices’ Top Ten from last week, which gives a little insight perhaps how they’re creating their list since there’s just so much one off and junk books ending every minute, people put in wrong descriptions, they don’t list them as 2nd prints in the subjects, etc.
So here’s my top ten list for the past week.
Spider-Man 2099 #1 Volume 1 (1992) – 39 copies sold (most single issues, some mixed in with sets) between April 4th to April 11th with a high raw BIN sale of $13.99 + Free S/H and then an auction that ended at $10.99. Slab sales reached as high as $80.00 BIN and an auction that ended at $69.00.
You can apparently snag 9.6 graded slabs in the $20 range for this book.
Spider-Woman #1 Secret Variant (2020) – 12 copies sold (2 in mixed sets) with a high raw sale of $21.99 for a single copy.
This was one of the more recent book released prior to the whole quarantine and lockdowns.
Amazing Spider-Man #365 – 33 copies sold, mostly single copies with a few sets or other books thrown in between April 4th and April 11th. This is the first appearance of Spider-Man 2099 so it makes sort of sense this one is selling copies.
Star Wars Kanan The Last Padawan #1 – 22 copies sold from April 4th to the 11th. A single raw high sale went for $22.00 with most copies selling upwards of $10 on average. This has the first appearance (cameo) of Sabine Wren.
Star Wars Kanan The Last Padawan #6 – Which is the first full appearance of Sabine Wren didn’t move as many copies as #1 above but did move 12 copies and is a bigger sale. Perhaps more bought into the first issue and most didn’t last through issue 6. A high raw sale reached $29.99 with free shipping. This one is averaging the $22 range.
X-Men #4 – First Omega Red is still selling well. Counted around 65 copies sold in the past week from April 4th to April 11th. Average sales still around the $20 to $25 range. High sales still reaching the $30 range. Slabbed 9.8 sales hitting the $150 range.
Batman #89 – First Punchline (Cameo) is still selling well. Around 49 sold listings in the past week (April 4th through 11th) which I didn’t include listings that were selling sets of this one and Hell Arisen #3.
I’d say on average this is still around a $25 book from most completed listings. A slabbed CGC 9.8 went for $159.99.
Like Batman #89, Year of the Villain Hell Arisen #3 made the list being Punchlines first full appearance. With around 45 sold listings (1st prints only and excluding sets that included BM89 or other non HA3 books), this one is a bit higher on the average sold with a majority in the $30 range still, raw sales reaching the $40 mark and CGC 9.8 slabs hitting the $130 average range.
Rai #0 from Valiant introduces Bloodshot in his first full appearance. With the quarantine in place mostly worldwide and theaters shutting down due to shelter in place orders that only allows essential business stay open, Bloodshot went directly to new movie release at home.
This one saw around 32 copies sold in the past week since April 4th. Raw sales averaging around the $15 range but the CGC slabs command bit more, particularly the glossy cover variant getting a best off off a $239.99 price tag.
Eternal Warrior #4 is considered Bloodshot’s first appearance in cameo form.
This book saw around 17 sold listings in the past week with a high raw sale of $34.75, 9.8 CGC slabs reaching the mid $80 range and a 4 x Signature CGC 9.8 reaching $360.
Tell me what you guys and gals are picking up, if you’re not short on cash and trying to seek out deals to add to your collections.
#awesomesauce great job sir.blind adam out
I hate the most the ones who throw in “bonus” books to bump up shipping. No, I do not need a copy of ASM 364 to go with 365 (hypothetically), I can find that one in a quarter bin, gee which one do you think I’m buying?
Heh.. when I sell, media mail is same price up to a pound no matter if it’s 8oz. So usually if someone selects media mail and it’s just one book, I usually throw in a second freebie book if I have it as it usually ends up being between 12-14oz after my cardboard packing to secure the book.
I like this — nicely done AP!!
Thanks… Havent seen you comment in some time. Hope all is well !
