Poyo’s Trade and Hardcover Picks of the Week

We shouldn’t just collect or flip books, we should also read them. A good story can make your purchase well worth the money spent if you ask me. After all, we buy books to read for entertainment right? Even if you can’t flip them, reading is just as rewarding.

We tend to focus on mostly the floppy copies each week and kind of ignore the trades and hardcovers that come out week after week.

The King of Hell is back for sure. I love Ghost Rider. Picking up the trade is great for those that missed out on the floppy copies (or those who don’t want to take them out of their bag and board). Trades can save you money as well, shave a few bucks off if buying the singles at cover price.

Ghost Rider TPB Vol 01 King of Hell

All hell breaks loose as the Brothers Ghost Rider return! Johnny Blaze is the king of Hell, its first line of defense against demonic hordes trying to escape and lords of other infernal regions making a play for his throne – including a certain evil queen from his past!

Meanwhile, Danny Ketch never wanted to be a Ghost Rider. But with his brother in charge downstairs, Ketch must become Earth’s Spirit of Vengeance full-time – no matter how much he’d rather be doing anything else. And with the psychopathic symbiote Carnage targeting a third Ghost Rider, Alejandra Jones, he could be her only hope! But when the inevitable happens and Rider battles Rider, who will Mephisto have his money on?

And the last pick this week goes to another Devil, from hell, Mephisto. Not familiar with this character that comes and goes into our Marvel lives, this is a great place to start. Collects a bunch of classics up through some of the newer stuff. You know, if this character was done right, I could totally see him having his own new age and modern horror series. We should bring back more horror comics in our mainstream Marvel Universe.
