Blind Adam’s Hidden Gems Vol. 120

Greetings to my Comics Heating Up family. Hope you are all well and safe. Thanks for reading this each and every week. Now lets make money with comics cause you can’t teach that

1. Detective Comics #737 – third appearances do not always get the respect they deserve. This is the 3rd appearance of Harley Quinn in the DC Universe. Harley is hot and will probably remain so for a long time. Grab this one as it is only $15-$20 for a minor key. Plus it has Harley chocking out Robin on the cover.

2. Kodiak One Shot – Joe Hill is on fire. His Locke and Key is a Netflix hit, he and his dad have an adaptation coming up for Road Rage. The Cape was optioned. So I was looking at his old comics thinking what else could they pick up on. This comic stuck out at me. The regular cover is super cheap, but there is a hard to find 1:10 variant.

3. Incredible Hulk #25 7-11 Variant – 7-11 isn’t just for slurpees and Redbull. Back in 2001 they had their own variant for Incredible Hulk #25. It tied in to the release of the Incredible Hulk Movie. 7-11 is #Awesomesauce, I love a slurpee, I love promo comics, and this one is priced at $19-$45, even though someone recently got a steal on a copy.

4. Rick and Morty #52 Galaxy Con Variant – first Glootie in comics, voiced by Taika Waititi who does the awesome What We Do in the Shadows TV show and movie that is so funny. Rick and Morty is the best show on TV today, smart and funny. Sad that season four is almost over nuff said $20 and up

5. Batman #27 (Rebirth) – origin of Kiteman. Tom King revamped Kiteman, made Kiteman a joke. This is the best issue in the entire War of Jokes and Riddles story. Just brought a tear to my eye. Plus Kiteman is the bomb in Harley Quinn. Kiteman hells yeah #testify. Remember, Batman Rebirth #6 is the first time Kiteman says “Kiteman hells yeah” and he first appears in batman #133. My question, where is the “Kiteman hells yeah” t-shirt? $5 and up for #6 and 27. $20 and up for #133

6. The Maxx Maxximized #35 1 in 10 Sub Variant – IDW reprinted the entire Image Maxx series. The Maxx #35 is a tough book to find in the wild as is this reprint. I am amazed that the entire Maxx Maxximized run had 1 in 10 variants $30

7. Detective Comics #27 Loot Crate Replica Edition – If you were a subscriber to Loot rate in 2018 you would have scored a very valuable replica edition. Back in 2017 Loot Crate did an Action Comics #1 Replica (which you can get for $3.49) and a $3.49. But the first Batman Loot Crate Replica goes for $90. Happy Hunting on this one.

8. Batman Family #17 can someone tell me why Batman Family, a classic bronze age series, doesn’t get more love? In this series we get the Joker’s daughter, the revival of Batwoman, Batgirl and Robin team ups, and all sorts of bronze age classics. In #17 we get a Poison Ivy appearance. $10 and up

  1. I didn’t even realize that 7/11 Hulk existed! I collect Hulk and was about to make a purchase on Mycomicshop so I took a look and they had a nice one for $7, so why not…added it to my order for the pc! Thanks for pointing it out BA! They still have a few for sale Fine plus I think for about $6 if anyone is looking for an obscure 20 year old Hulk comic.

    1. What all did you order? Anything good? I had a stack of the 7-11 hulks are one time. My mom owned a 7-11 so I got all the Hulks all the Walking Dead pop exclusives and all the deadpool pop exclusives. In fact the leak I had on the deadpool pops years ago came from information they sent to the stores. It wasn’t for sharing. But she doesn’t own it any more so I can say that where that leak came from.

      1. that’s pretty awesome she owned a 7/11! All those free slurppies and Mad magazines as a kid!!! I can only imagine! My order was mostly for fillers..Nothing great this time. The best of the bunch would be a Thrawn #1 figure variant in NM for $8. That ill probably be a $30 to maybe even a $40 book when he finally appears on a D+ live action.

        1. Lol. She used to have a comic spinner rack but the magazine company took it back. I would love to have it in my basement. We got a lot of the store equipment when she sold it. But back in the day when the comics and magazines were “expired” I would just take them. It was awesome.

          1. I’m sure that made the summers even that much better! I know I would have loved it! I can’t think of a kid who wouldn’t have! When I was ten give me a Mad or Cracked Magazine, a slurpee, Atari 2600 and a couple of friends to share it all and that would have been a great summer!

            1. It was better back in the day when there were arcade machines in the store. I would play Dig Dug or Pole Position all day.

              1. Oh, man! I would have lived in that store! I was really good at Dig Dug but never as good as wanted at Pole Position.

    1. Don’t tell me people are starting to buy it because of all the idiot looters out in the big cities right now? I could see some waves being made with that…sigh.

  2. tony do you have a classic surplly machine?i now want a surplly and a copy of cracked magazine I have coke and ice and a blender will google ways to make homemade surpplies and off to my comic shop as well love ya all thanks for all the love and surport blind adam out

  3. I got Mad #1 and Cracked #1 those series are what introduced me to comics. I use to go the swap meet when I was 5 trying to hunt down old mad issues and that’s when I bought first comic.
