Covrprice.com Runners-Up for 6/26/20

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. Think of this as the second half of the top 20.

#11 SILK #1 WOO DAE SHIM HIP HOP VARIANT (MARVEL, 2015) With SPIDER-MAN #1 MILES MORALES HIP HOP COVER going absolutely nuts, it’s caused collectors and fans to look a little closer at ALL the over hip hop covers. With additional SILK heat, it was this Silk Hip Hop cover that took off next. It’s absolutely gorgeous and a fun interpretation of Mos Def’s 2004 THE NEW DANGER album cover. It sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 326% and had a high raw sale of $49.95.

#12 STATIC #1 COLLECTOR’S EDITION (DC, 1993) With the heat of Miles Morales and the topical discussions around race has led to speculation around severely underused and undervalued black superheroes. Static is one of these characters. He’s easily one of DC’s most interesting superheroes… but you barely see him in anything. The animated show also was awesome, which is how many became fans of the character. Here’s to hoping that we see him more front and center in the future. There’s SO much potential with Static. This collector’s edition and the standard print are great books to track down. This collector’s edition sold 15 copies, had a 7-day trend of 279% and had a high sale of $49.95 for a CGC 9.2.

#13 STATIC #1 (DC, 1993) Right behind the collector’s edition is the standard. It sold 14 copies, had a 7-day trend of 283% and had a high sale of $49.99 for a CGC 9.4.

#14 MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #8 2ND PRINT (MARVEL, 2019)
We’re going to sound like a broken record… but did you hear?… Miles books are HOT! Especially for many of his incentive variants and subsequent printings, like this one. It sold 31 copies, had a 7-day trend of 124% and had a high raw sale of $17.99.

#15 LEGION OF SUPER HEROES #6 (DC, 2020) The first full appearance of GOLD LANTERN, MONSTER BOY, and a new DR. FATE are hanging in there. They sold 33 copies, had a 7-day trend of 112% and had a high raw sale of $33.99.

#16 ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #11 (MARVEL, 2019) Like with our #1 book this week, this cover is another book with a connection to today’s topical issue around race and the police. This sold 12 copies, had a 7-day trend of 299% and had a high raw sale of $49.99.

#17 MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #8 (MARVEL, 2019) Yep, another solid Miles cover that’s trending. It sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 271% and had a high sale of $24.99 for a raw copy.

#18 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 2ND PRINT (MARVEL, 2011) Okay, now this one has some serious heat. It sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 85% and had a high sale of $710 for a CGC 9.8!!!! $710!! We’re surprised by books like this every week now.

#19 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 (MARVEL, 1992) We mentioned last week on our WATCH LIST that Spider-Man 2099 is the character you should be looking at while EVERYTHING “Into the Spider-verse” related is going nuts. 2099 has been pretty affordable. He’s beginning to trend and his first appearance sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 210% and had a high sale of $42 for an 8.5 raw copy on MCS. Keep in mind that most raw copies sell for about $20.

#20 SPAWN #1 (IMAGE,1992) For our big 2019 year-end wrap up, ULTIMATE FALLOUT was our #2 best selling book across all markets. This first SPAWN was number 1. While that will not be the case for 2020 (as Miles has it in the bag), many forget how well this first issue sells every single week. It sold 25 copies, had a 7-day trend of 104% and had a high sale of $120 for a CGC 9.8.
