FOC is the last chance to put in your orders with your comic shops and likely get at a discount for pre-ordering.
This weeks FOC picks are a little early cause you know, I just felt like it and nobody can stop me from telling the world what I’m pre-ordering in the comic book world.
First pick goes Thor #4 2nd Printing.
It’s got Black Winter on the cover. It’s a must because whether you like it or not, Black Winter is on fire. Thor #5 first print is a $40 book now on the secondary market on a good day with most or all listed over $30.
There’s also a Thor #3 3rd print on FOC this Monday but seems the art hasn’t been released or leaked from what I could find. If Marvel knows what’s best, they’ll throw Black Winter on that cover as well to really get you comic book nerds panties all knotted up from excitement.
Next up is Horizon Zero Dawn #1 Peach Momoko Variant.
It’s probably going to be over ordered and some stores are already reusing the same art to make store exclusives. Save your money, order this one at cover (or pre-order discounted price) for the Peach Momoko personal collection and call it a day. Maybe order two, just in case if this one grows over time for the long term gamble. Seems Momoko ratio variants heat up quickly while the regular cover priced open orders take some time.
But with so many stores now over using her work (and reusing existing cover art for their own minus trade dress, etc), it’s certainly causing the overall demand to go down.
