Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )
#1 VENOM #25 2ND PRINT (MARVEL, 2020) If KNULL (or any related character) is on a subsequent printing, just pick it up. Venom 2nd, 3rd, 4th prints are on fire right now. This 2nd print sold 84 copies, had a 7-day trend of 149% and had a high sale of $124.99 for a CGC 9.8. (You can preorder Venom 25 3rd print and Venom 26 2nd print still)
#2 NEW AVENGERS #7 (MARVEL, 2005) This has been a popular spec book for years now. However, recent rumors of the Illuminati playing a large role throughout phase 4 of the MCU has lit a huge fire under this. It sold 50 copies, had a 7-day trend of 201% and had a high sale of $180 for a CGC 9.8. The Neal Adams variant is also doing really well and hit $80 raw last week.
#3 CATWOMAN #23 (DC, 2020) This main cover of Catwoman is outselling the variant due to CATGIRL on the cover. It sold 42 copies, had a 7-day trend of 237% and had a high sale of $32.99 for a raw copy.
#4 VENOM #26 (MARVEL, 2020) Man did this book sell. The first appearance of Virus sold 85 copies, had a 7-day trend of 102% and had a high sale of $26.86 for a raw copy.
#5 CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS #4 (DC, 1985) Rumors of Keanu reclaiming his role as Constantine have been swirling. His undervalued 2nd appearance in this issue was the topic of conversation last week. With this news, this issue sold 45 copies, had a 7-day trend of 174% and had a high sale of $90 for a CGC 9.8.
#6 CATWOMAN #23 LEE VARIANT (DC, 2020) This re-introduction of SNOWFLAME and a first appearance of CATGIRL held well this week and sold 28 copies, had a 7-day trend of 230% and had a high sale of $22.95 for a raw copy.
#7 THE EMPTY MAN #1 (BOOM, 2014) Buried at the bottom of their article, The Hollywood Reporter released the premiere date for this film on Dec. 4, 2020. It sold 11 copies, had a 7-day trend of 585% and had a high sale of $109.99 for a CGC 9.8.
#8 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 (MARVEL, 2011) Miles sure hasn’t slowed down much. This book moved 50 copies, had a 7-day trend of 102% and had a high sale of $1,100 for a CGC 9.8.
#9 STRANGE ACADEMY #1 2ND PRINT (MARVEL, 2020) With all the first print covers trending, the market pivoted to this 2nd print… which of course is now getting pricey. It sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 138% and had a high sale of $26.11 for a raw copy.
#10 STRANGE ACADEMY #1 (MARVEL, 2020) This long-term spec book is packed with first appearances. Even though it’s a long-term spec, the market jumped on it as if it was going to get optioned tomorrow. It sold 49 copies, had a 7-day trend of 98% and had a high sale of $299.99 for a CGC 9.8.
