Covrprice.com Top Ten for Week Ending 9/25/20

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBaytrends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

#1 UNDONE BY BLOOD #1 (AFTERSHOCK, 2020) As we already mentioned, Aftershock Comic is getting a TV deal with Norman Reedus production company, bigbadbald production which helped this first issue to take the #1 spot this week. It sold 35 copies, had a 7-day trend of 569% and had a high sale of $29.99 for a raw copy.

#2 X-MEN #12 (MARVEL, 2020) This issue, which features the first appearance of The Summoners, Isca the Unbeaten, the White Sword and the first cover appearance of THE HIGH EXECUTIONER sold 50 copies, had a 7-day trend of 242% and had a high sale of $19.99 for a raw copy.

#3 AMAZING FANTASY #1 (MARVEL, 2004) Ditto. This first appearance of Araña sold 49 copies, had a 7-day trend of 200% and had a high sale of $239.99 for a CGC 9.8.

#4 AVENGERS #8 (MARVEL, 1964) Speculation is spreading that KANG THE CONQUEROR may be the potential villain for ANT-MAN 3. That gave a very nice boost in sales for Kang’s first appearance in AVENGERS #8 (1964). Now, Kang has a VERY complicated history and several various takes. For now, collectors are sticking with his first. It sold 29 copies, had a 7-day trend of 321% and had a high sale of $1,499 for a CGC 7.5.

#5 UNDONE BY BLOOD #1 ROBINSON VARIANT (AFTERSHOCK, 2020) It was announced this week that this Aftershock comic is getting a TV deal with Norman Reedus production company, bigbadbald productions. With this news, this variant disappeared from eBay after selling 12 copies, had a 7-day trend of 500% and had a high sale of $64.99 for a raw copy.

#6 ARAÑA THE HEART OF THE SPIDER #1 (MARVEL, 2005) With the UNCONFIRMED rumors that Araña (Anya Corazon) will be the SPIDER-WOMAN in Olivia Wilde’s secret Spider-Woman project at Sony, collectors quickly escalated the market values for her first appearance in AMAZING FANTASY #1 (2004). As we’ve seen in this market, collectors quickly move on to the next key appearance, giving spike to her first solo series. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 261% and had a high sale of $22.50 for a raw copy. The variant hit a huge high of $112.50 for a NM raw.

#7 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 (MARVEL, 1992) The first appearance of Spider-Man 2099 is starting to pick-up. Both sales and prices are increasing. Granted, the recent Newsstand 9.8 sale of $1,225 definitely had a hand in lighting this fire. It sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 146% and had a high sale of $224.50 for a CGC 9.8.

#8 BATMAN #99 JORGE JIMENEZ NIGHTWING 1:25 VARIANT (DC, 2020) These design variants are surprisingly popular. Usually after the first few variants, some fatigue sets in. However, these continue to sell well. It sold 57 copies, had a 7-day trend of 65% and had a high sale of $39.99 for a raw copy.

#9 MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #6 (MARVEL, 2019) This is considered the first full appearance of STARLING, the Vulture’s Granddaughter. Now, there’s plenty of debate with this or issue #5 owning the “first appearance” title. At the end of issue #5, she has a big splash page with dialogue that includes her STARLING name. This closely mirrors the age-old HULK 181 v. 180 where Wolverine has the same appearance at the end of 180. Regardless, she’s hot right now and the market is favoring issue #6. It sold 19 copies, had a 7-day trend of 157% and had a high sale of $200 for a CGC 9.8.

#10 STRANGE ACADEMY #1 (MARVEL, 2020) This series is still trending in the aftermarket, despite recent price dips. It sold 29 copies, had a 7-day trend of 100% and had a high sale of $208 for a CGC 9.8.

  1. “ Now, there’s plenty of debate with this or issue #5 owning the “first appearance” title.”

Really? She appears in issue 5. With this fact there can be no debate!

  2. Just that she is on the cover of #6 and throughout the whole issue. #5 will always carry some heat but not as much.
