Greetings my Comics Heating Up family. Hope you are safe and well. Cabin fever sucks big time. Going to keep this short and sweet. To everyone that reads this each and every week, thank you. Now lets make the money with some comics cause you can’t teach that.
1. Marvel Previews Magazine #1 2003 – Love them or hate them, and I love them, true first appearances are making money, kicking ass, and taking names. Just look at Marvel Previews #95, Marvel Previews #6, and books like Foom Magazine Number 2, Number 10, and Number 15. Well in Marvel Previews 2003 #1, it happens again. This time, the next generation Wolverine, The All New All Different Wolverine, X-23, Laura Kinny herself. The first image of X-23 first image of NYX, a Joshua Middleton in his comic artist babyhood . X-23 for some reason has fallen off but with people like Miles and Ms. Marvel gaining steam, it is a matter of time before all X-23 books get hot again. So get prepared and snag this, I just did thanks ebay for the win yes.
2. Wizard Magazine #148 – this is another X-23 preview pre-dates NYX #3 as does the Marvel Previews #1. Does anyone wish Wizard Magazine would make a comeback? I sure do. X-23 is a great speculation play, this generation’s Wolverine book is also a great find and hold. $10 and up
3. Marvel Previews #8 – Marvel Previews are getting hot. Character previews before books come out are going crazy. This one pre-dates Amazing Fantasy #1. This is the first true appearance of Arana.
4. Fantastic Four #272 and #273 – just lost a mid-grade Fantastic Four #19 but I believe Fantastic Four #272-273 are sleepers waiting to explode. First of all they are in every dollar box in America and Canada, maybe even Mexico as well. In these issues it is revealed that Nathan Richards is Reed’s dad. I believe Ant-Man will be the backdoor for both the Young Avengers and the Fantastic Four in the Marvel movies for years to come. They are building to a Young Avengers movie and using the shows Ant-Man 3 to get there. Nathan built the time machine. These are John Bryne at his best happy hunting everyone $1-5
5. Chew #13 – great Pulp Fiction homage cover. Second Print has a Reservoir Dogs homage. This is a classic cover based on the second greatest movie of all time, the greatest movie of all time is Mallrats. This cover is a tough find in the wild. Another Pulp Fiction homage cover to watch out for is the 1995 Gen 13 #1 Pulp Fiction cover. $10 and up
6. Gen 13 #48 – John Layman from Chew’s first work.
7. Possessed #1 – I loved this 6 issue miniseries that came out from Cliffhanger back in the early 2000’s. Geoff Johns’ DC stuff is making it to the TV, so why couldn’t his self published work. And since Halloween is just around the corner and there will be no trick or treating, treat yourself to this horror themed Johns book.
well that is all. stay safe thanks for being the greatest blessing in my life. untill next time
blind adam out
Wizard and Comic Buyers Monthly and Overstreet Fan were some of my favorite things to look forward to each month growing up. Heck yeah I wish they’d return.
Another damn fine job B.A.!!!! Let me know when you’re in Vegas and hit me up brother.
Same here. I loved Wizard.
