Every week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 12/2/20
Small week for picks, but still some good ones on the list. Here is what is on tap.
Returning Favorites
Thor #10 – Have been loving the run. Cates has mentioned he is not done with Black Winter, but this is about the evil Donald Blake. Also available in Knullifed variant
New #1’s
Batman Catwoman #1 – This can be hit or miss as Tom King’s Batman wasn’t well received.
E-Ratic #1 – Cool concept, good read, interior art is very similar to a Skottie Young feel, it is Kaare Andrews after all. You’re fifteen years old. You’re suddenly granted incredible powers. Cool, right? There’s only one problem: you can only use your powers for ten minutes at a time. What do you do when you have to save the world but you only have ten minutes to do it? This is the problem faced by Oliver Leif, a teenager who has just moved to a new town, and a new school, and is having a hard enough time navigating classes and his crush before the inter-dimensional monsters started showing up.
Knock Em Dead #1 – Aftershock puts out some great reads. ometimes you kill. Sometimes you get killed. But no matter what, everyone dies the first time they go on stage. Pryor Brice has always wanted to be funny. And now, he’s taken the plunge and started doing stand-up comedy. Unfortunately, his older sister – Ronan – wants her brother to stop daydream-ing and focus on his future. Pryor is determined to succeed the only problem is: He totally sucks at stand-up. That is…until an accident changes everything, leading both Pryor and Ronan to discover comedy isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. KNOCK ‘EM DEAD is a supernatural horror about comedy
King In Black #1 – I hate big company crossovers, but the first issue is awesome. Packed with some cool moments. Wait for the spoilers! Look for the secret variant. The Peach Momoko cover is cool as well. And Superlog covers have had some heat lately.
The Union #1 – Marvel’s British heroes take center stage in this King in Black Crossover
For the Cover
Black Widow #4 – Just loving this cover. Adam Hughes makes potential domestic homicide look good.
Fantastic Four Road Trip One Shot Del Mundo Cover – kinda gross but completely cool. Modeled after one of the anatomy models from science class. Man they should do this with the invisible Woman more often, creepy horror nveisble Woman where you can see her organs. Check Mycomicshop first
Variant of the Week
Miles Morales Spider-Man #21 1:10 Variant – the 1:10 Variants on the book have been dong well. If you can grab them cheap do so.
Picks of the Week
Civil War Marvels Snapshots #1 Cover B – Good luck finding this one. We had talked about it on the forum a long while ago and it was hard to find then. New character appears in the book, and on the cover. These Snapshot books haven’t had a large print run so this B cover could be scarce. Check Mycomicshop first.
Daredevil #25 – Elektra takes on a new role. Will it stick? Wait for the spoilers. Selling out everywhere, selling for multiple times cover price on eBay. Check Mycomicshop first
I’m sorry,,what is a “super log” again? My mind keeps going the way of bathroom humor…
I believe it’s the name of an artist (as well as a satisfying movement)
Great artist with a weird name.
