Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 12/9/20

Every Week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best potential. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 12/9/20:

New #1’s
Batman Black & White #1 – a third volume of the Batman Black and White series kicks off. There is a Peach Momoko cover priced variant for this one.

Locke & Key Sandman Hell & Gone #0 – Locke and Key, and Sandman? Yes please. Neal Gaiman and Joe Hill characters together. This issue is a recap of the characters who will be in next month’s Locke & Key Sandman Hell & Gone #1

Vampirella Dark Powers #1 – Momoko fans take note of the B cover on this one. I am a huge fan of the Golden Age Superhero. The Black Terror, he and many other golden age super heroes have gone into the public domain. The most famous use of these characters was in Project Superhero by Alex Ross. Anyway, these heroes appear here.

Byte-Sized #1 – Cullen Bunn brings an awesome all ages story with this on from Aftershock. Could be the holiday comic of the season.

Cimmerian Frost-Giants Daughter #1 – Cimmerian book featuring Peach Momoko art on the cover.

Covers of the Week

Red Sonja Price Of Blood #1 – The regular Cover A by Arthur Suydam is just gorgeous. Normally hs is known for his zombie covers, but man the realism on this one is amazing.

Usagi Yojimbo #15 Mateus Santolouco Variant – Seriously, this is an awesome cover. Really odd that none are on eBay at the time of writing this. Check Mycomicshop tonight and you may get lucky.

One to Watch
Juggernaut #4 – Will have spoilers up for this one. Very symbiote looking yellow character on the cover. Will have the full scoop in spoilers later tonight. Another one to check Mycomicshop for.

Crossover #2 – Donny Care has some tricks up his sleeve. He is claiming issue 3 is gonna be huge, but one step at a time.

Reprints of the Week
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Last Ronin #1 Cover D 2nd Ptg – The mega-hot Last Ronin gets a second print. Grab a thank you variant if you see one cheap.

Savage Dragon #253 2nd Ptg – the first print went crazy on this one. Not sure this one will have the same results, but still, an interesting piece of history.

We Live #1 3rd Ptg – We Live #1 hits a 3rd print. This book has gotten a lot of notice.

Small Press Pick of the Week
Home Sick Pilots #1 – In the summer of 1994, a haunted house walks across California. Inside is Ami, lead singer of a high school punk band-who’s been missing for weeks. How did she get there, and what do these ghosts want? Just sounds awesome. Look for the incentive variant for this one too.

Large Press Pick of the Week
Venom #31 – ties in to King in Black. Will be interesting to see how Eddie gets by with no symbiote.
