One Week Later Report for January 20th, 2021

Welcome to the third One Week Later Report for 2021.

This week we’ll cover the books released on 01/13/2020, which was last week. These can be books we anticipated getting hot, total surprise winners and perhaps books that got hyped and ended up as duds. Also could be a good list to use when out picking up this weeks books for you Wednesday Warriors..

Last week we saw some love for a Future State book that introduces Red X.

Future State Teen Titans #1 is selling anywhere from $10 to $20 range. The 2nd printing has the character as the primary focus so pre-sales are looking bright as the hype and FOMO kick in for those that missed out.

I wouldn’t go too heavy and these are quick flips. So grab’em if you know you can sell’em. Maybe stash a single copy for the long haul if you already paid back what you spent buying.

Image had a winner come out last week with the new HAHA #1 that is seeing sales around the $15 range for the single covers and sets of both A & B reach the $30 range.

Not by any means a huge money maker but Amazing Spider-Man #57 Marco Mastrazzo variant is fetching upwards of $10 to $12. So small flip to pay for a handful of books. Still a great cover for you Spider-Man fans.

The great profit maker if you got for super cheap goes to the King in Black Gwenom vs Carnage #1 Inhyuk Lee ratio variant.

Reaching around the $150 range at some points, latest sold with bid was $75. So prices might be coming down as those with FOMO got their copies and demand starts to fizzle off a bit. If you’re really patient, might be able to wait out a few more weeks or months and get them even cheaper.

Hot ratio covers do well but if certainly helps when something happens on a higher level for the inside story, first appearance, death, etc.

King in Black Planet of Symbiotes #1 Hotz variant was the winner cover for this new spin-off mini-series surrounded around Knull.

Reached highs around the $20 range. Some listings still trying to squeeze out $15 or so but sold listings seem to have started to drop a bit.

Just a sweet cover though. I forgot to pre-order myself and would have liked to have one for my personal collection. Oh well..  if you find’em out in the wild, not a bad pickup.

Darth Vader #9 Design Ratio Variant is another book that saw some love. It’s a 1:10 so not super hard to find and these are normally around the $10 to $15 price range but this one flirted around the mid $20’s at one point but has settled around the $15 to $20 range. So if you got for cover price, the profit margin is much wider. If you spend $15 to $20, I’m gonna guess you’re a collector stashing this away in your personal collection.

Terry Moore’s new title Serial #1 is seeing some love on the secondary market. He has his fans for sure and while it’s not a huge money maker, if you pick up 2 and sell one, it’s like getting your kept copy for free. That’s just how it goes at times with flipping, buy and sell to break even is still a win if you ask me.
