One Week Later Report for April 21st, 2021

Welcome to the 13th One Week Later Report for 2021.

This week we’ll cover the books released on 04/14/2021, which was last week.

These can be books we anticipated getting hot, total surprise winners and perhaps books that got hyped and ended up as duds. Also could be a good list to use when out picking up this weeks books for you Wednesday Warriors..

Joker #2 got some attention due to the new daughter of Bane named Vengeance making her first appearance.

A few of the open order covers reached almost the $20 mark but seems most are hovering around the $10 range. The Hairsine 1:50 was going for crazy money. I’d save that money and go with the 2nd printings (crap ton listed on eBay) that got this new gal on the covers (there’s a 1:50 2nd printing as  well).

Canto & The City of Giants #1 is still available with the regular cover. There were some pretty cool ratio variants though that I wanted to point out that if you missed it at the local shop, these are only selling roughly around the retailer type price point. So, you might be able to snag some deals. I didn’t anticipate any heat for these but since this got optioned and if it ever becomes a show, if they use any of this volumes story line in a film, these could see some love then.

Duplicant #1 is not seeing a whole lot of action but is selling upwards of $10 on the secondary market. Supposedly a good read, I missed out myself so need to seek out a copy as I wanted to read this one.

A book that sort of slipped under the radar is the virgin variant of Hard Case Crime Minky Woodcock Girl Who Electrified Tesla #1 virgin variant. It’s seeing some prices go as high as the $50 range.

An easy $10 to $25 flip (yes, it seems to be scattered on recent solds), is Horror Comics Black & White #3. All of these seem to have had some love on the aftermarket.

    1. You might be right.. either way, I’m gonna avoid. You see the amount listed on eBay? This second printing is gonna be massive. These will be worthless and easy to get. Wait, grab at real cheap prices and then in maybe 40 years Vengeance will be worthy since we all know, she can’t overtake her Daddy’s first appearance value so quickly…

      1. This character is definitely an “I’ll Be Back” candidate. Once the current heat drops off, I’ll start scooping up as many as I can for cheap 🙂

      2. I think it’s the portrait in the background of Minky Woodcock Girl Who Electrified Tesla #1 that got a lot of people looking, and not the actual cover for the virgin copy. I mean the text for the trade just overshadowed the buns.

  1. The Mindy Woodcock cover is just killer period. I snagged the trade dress for cover. Pretty solid read. I was surprised the Homage variant for Joker #2 by Neal friggin’ Adams wasn’t getting any love.

      1. Yes it was. Does One Week Later… intentionally leave store variants off the list? I can understand why if it does. I was just surprised to see any Neal Adams homage variant to his own Batman 227 not escalate in price like the other Joker 2’s did. I purchased one from the store (cheaper than their eBay listings), was debating buying another one or two but the prices just stayed flat while I was procrastinating so I didn’t.

        1. Yeah, I don’t normally chase the store variants on the one week later report. I could spend countless hours chasing all the variants. Normally I’ll just briefly mention if some are heating up and do a generic link to the sales or auctions listing them.
