Welcome to the 16th One Week Later Report for 2021.
This week we’ll cover the books released on 05/05/2021, which was last week.
These can be books that were simply overlooked or we anticipated getting hot, total surprise winners and perhaps books that got hyped, ending up as complete duds. Also could be a good list to use when out picking up this weeks books for you Wednesday Warriors..
Batman Fortnite Zero Point #1 2nd printing and Batman Fortnite Zero Point #2 are pretty easy money for those who pre-ordered their copies and list them to sell. Not gonna get rich but who wouldn’t trade a few dollars for double or triple right? You make up by selling in quantity.
I might take a Miracle for retailers to eventually sell all of their Batman #108, which introduced the new Queen of Goodwill Miracle Molly. You can still find stacks and stacks of these at your local or online retailers for cover price. You can also still find the Batman #108 (Cover B – Stanley Artgerm Lau Card Stock Variant) as well.
The winner out of Marvel was America Chavez #3 both covers. Introduces her sister which made some scramble to get their copies.
There’s another winner out of Marvel though which didn’t see prices as high as America Chavez but is going in the $10 to $15 range goes to Iron Fist #5. This is Okoye gaining Iron Fist powers. Both covers doing decent but the B cover will fetch a few more dollars based on sold listings.
Star Wars War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 had a few covers with ratios. You can still find most of these online or at your local shops. If you were able to snag the ratio variant of the Black Armor for cover or cheap, those are selling around the $30 to $40 range. The directors cut B&W is going for a bit more but around the $60 to $70 range but a lot of retailers started this one out at such range. So not a lot of room for profit if you bought high and didn’t find for cheap.
You can still snag the JTC Action Figures at TFAW while Midtown is now sold out.
Eve #1 was a book I wasn’t even going to bother based on the solicitations. Just didn’t jump out at me. But then people on the forums started speaking up on how great of a read it was. So I checked it out. I’m glad I did, it was a great read and now we are seeing supplies dry up online and likely at your local shops as well. The ratio 1:50 is doing quite well, nice profit if you were able to snag at a lower price.
You can still find Eve #1 Cover A at TFAW though. Probably won’t last long though. Already sold out at Midtown and a few other sites I’ve randomly checked.
We Live #5 got a 2nd printing and it seemed a lot of shops didn’t even bother with this one, which is strange considering since the first printing is doing quite well on the secondary. Regardless, it seems to be an easy $10 bill right now but we could see that go up if the demand continues to go above what’s in our current supply.
Whalesville X Rocks And Minerals #1 is another Bad Idea book that everyone had plenty of time to pre-order and yet, it’s still an easy $30 book right now. Did you get your copy? Did you order from multiple retailers so you can flip? If you did, it’s easy money even at a $9.99 cover price book.
James Tynion IV has become like a superhero himself. By day he thinks up new characters no one cares about for his Batman comic run….but by night he creates incredible horror based comic books that are staggeringly good. Miracle Molly looks like her only ability is to get ready in the dark. I saved my money not buying Batman #108 because nice house on the lake is out soon.
