Welcome to this weeks spec. This is where we pick the winners each week we (or shall I say myself) think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover.
Marvel Picks
Amazing Fantasy #2 (of 5) has just amazing cover art. Even if you don’t read these, it’s hard to resist from buying due to the covers alone.
Amazing Fantasy #2 (of 5) (Andrews Variant)
Amazing Fantasy #2 (of 5) (Momoko Variant)
Avengers Annual #1 (Infinite Destinies) gives us a first appearance of Multitude. We’ve been discussing this over on our forums, so it could be a worthy pick up.
Avengers Annual #1 (Ron Lim Connecting Variant Infinite Destinies)
Everybody loves Darkhawk right? Darkhawk #1 (of 5) hits stands and as I don’t anticipate any heat on this one (but you never know), I’m hoping for an entertaining read.

And Vader makes an appearance in Star Wars Doctor Aphra #13 (War of the Bounty Hunters).

DC Picks
Not a whole lot on the DC radar this week.
Superman Son of Kal-El #2 (Cover A – John Timms) has a really cool cover and I’ve been looking forward to reading this title. I’m still waiting for my first issue to arrive on a pre-order. Here’s to hoping Tom Taylor makes Superman.. err, his son an entertaining read.
Superman Son of Kal-El #2 (Cover B – Inhyuk Lee Card Stock Variant)
Indie and Small Publisher Picks
Echolands #1 (Cover A – Williams III) is a new Image title I’m hoping for a good read. I got an advanced review copy but have yet to read it. Might have to get on that before Wednesday comes.
Echolands #1 (Cover B – Williams III)
Echolands Raw Cut Ed #1 (Cover A – Williams III)
Echolands Raw Cut Ed #1 (Cover B – Williams III)
If you’re into Spawn, the new ongoing title King Spawn #1 hits stands this week. Retailers went crazy getting qualified for the signed variant so there’s going to be a shit ton of these out there. Maybe in 30 years we’ll see this one finally rise in value after I’m sure a lot will make their way to the bargain bins.
Lots of covers, stick to the one you like best and leave it at that I say.
Beyond the Farthest Star #1 (Cover A – Ranaldi) that’s going to be a hit or miss. I love a good sci-fi so I’m hoping this is a decent read at minimum.
Beyond the Farthest Star #1 (Cover B – Wolfer)
Beyond the Farthest Star #1 (Cover C – Wolfer Ltd Ed)
Dark Blood #1 gets a 3rd printing.
Hit new title from Aftershock We Live gets a 2nd printing of We Live #4. Might of been under ordered/overlooked by a lot of shops so for you completists, might be a toughie to find out in the wild if you didn’t pre-order a copy.
Sorry but have to do this, it’s not “should of” but rather “should have”. And We Live is a great comic. Loved the FCBD issue so much.
Sorry I meant “might of” should be “might have”

Plus writer Kyle Higgins has been great on Radiant Black which has an updated early DH feel to it. A perfect choice.
I agree on King Spawn…stick to your favorite one (cover) and be done. Especially at $6 a pop.
