#10 SPECIAL MARVEL EDITION #15 | MARVEL | 1973
This week we had a new record sale of a CGC 9.8 copy of Shang-Chi’s first appearance in Special Marvel Edition #15. With the release of his well-received new movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it was perfect timing for this book to sell. It sold 35 copies, had a 7-day trend of 68% and had a high sale of $20,050 for a CGC 9.8. This sale beat out the prior record of $15,700 from June of this year, a respectable jump of over 27% in just two and a half months.

#9 GHOST RIDER #28 | MARVEL | 1992
As noted above, there are loose rumors/speculation that a Danny Ketch led Midnight Sons is in development for Disney+. This issue features the first cameo appearance of The Midnight Sons (via a future premonition). Their first full appearance is in Ghost Rider #31. However, the market preference has gone to Issue #28, selling 31 copies, had a 7-day trend of 93% and had a high sale of $550 for a CGC 9.8 (the newsstand version also had a big sale at $869 for a 9.8).

#8 WEREWOLF BY NIGHT #1 | MARVEL | 2020
As noted last week, Variety is reporting that “Marvel Studios is searching for a Latino actor to lead an untitled Halloween special for Disney Plus, Variety has confirmed.” It’s also mentioned in the article that “The special could be based on “Werewolf by Night,” and could feature Jake Gomez, who “was introduced into the Marvel universe last year in the comic “Werewolf by Night (Vol. 3) #1.” Created by Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Scot Eaton and Benjamin Jackendoff. Gomez is described to be a descendant of the Native American tribe Hopi who has been cursed with lycanthropy, also through his lineage.” This news lit a fire under Jake’s first appearance in this issue, moving 33 copies with a 7-day trend of 93% and a high sale of $55 for a raw copy.

#7 NEW AVENGERS #7 | MARVEL | 2005
Speculation believes that we are already seeing the groundwork of Marvel’s Illuminati eventual appearance. Their first appearance is in this issue, helping it move 22 copies with a 7-day trend of 149% and had a high sale of $86 for a CGC 9.6.

#6 SPAWN #321 BJORN BARENDS VIRGIN (1:50) | IMAGE | 2021
Between the heavily print Spawn Universe #1 and King Spawn #1 (and all their covers), stores may be feeling a tad burnt out from Spawn, causing stores to order a little more cautiously for the ongoing core series… which gives this variant the perfect chance to fly under the radar. Stores are most likely not ordering 50 copies of Spawn #321, hence it sold 29 copies with a 7-day trend of 143% and had a high sale of $120 raw.

#5 NOCTERRA #1 | IMAGE | 2021
As noted, Per Scott Snyder on Twitter, “So huge news! Tony S. Daniel and I just finalized our ‘Nocterra’ TV deal! Couldn’t be happier with our partners and excited for what’s to come. The official announcement with all the details will follow in the coming weeks — thanks so much again.” The focus specifically went to this standard cover, pushing all the cheap copies off online. It sold 68 copies, had a 7-day trend of 73% and had a high sale of $110 for a CGC 9.8 and $30 raw.

#4 OBLIVION SONG #1 | IMAGE | 2018
As noted, Deadline is reporting that “Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal is set to produce and star in Oblivion Song, a film based on the acclaimed series of graphic novels by Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici.” Due to this, Oblivion Song has been on fire with 55 copies sold, had a 7-day trend of 98% and had a high sale of $200 for a CGC 9.8.

#3 NOCTERRA #1 TONY DANIEL GLOW-IN-THE-DARK VARIANT | IMAGE | 2021
This series features MANY variant covers, several with low print runs. However, the market was relatively cautious and focused on the low hanging fruit, focusing on the main covers and this glow-in-the-dark variant. It sold 39 copies, had a 7-day trend of 148% and had a high sale of $167 for a CGC 9.8 with raws at $28. There’s also a 1:100 sketch and secret “visor” version of this cover as well.

#2 NOCTERRA #1 JOCK “B” VARIANT | IMAGE | 2021 Jock fans quickly grabbed this “B” cover , helping it to move 40 copies, giving it a 7-day trend of 208% and had a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8. However, raws are trending a bit lower at $14. This cover is shared by a VERY hard to find all foil version (limited to 150), a 1:75 b&w, and a Comic Vault Live red foil (limited to 275).

#1 STARSLAYER #2 | PACIFIC COMICS | 1982
With the recent announcement of the onscreen resurrection of the Rocketeer franchise through Disney+, the 1st appearance of the Rocketeer in Starslayer #2 is still trending, landing it in the top position this week. With a Rocketeer backup story and a full back cover spread by Dave Stevens, it sold 66 copies, had a 7-day trend of 173% and had a high sale of $565 for a CGC 9.8.
