CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 1/21/22

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 MOON KNIGHT #1 | MARVEL | 2014
This issue features the first full appearance of Mr. Knight, Marc Spector’s suited version of Moon Knight (though he first appeared in the suit two years before in Secret Avengers #19). In the recent teaser trailer (not the full trailer), there’s a brief scene of Marc Spector wearing white gloves and a suit that resembles the Mr. Knight suit. This could be an easter egg in the show, or the Disney+ series will possibly cycle through his various styles. Again, note that this scene was not shown in the full trailer. Regardless, Mr. Knight’s books are heating up quickly. 12 copies sold with a 7-day trend of 239% and had a high sale of $380 for a CGC 9.8.

#12 OUTSIDERS #8 | DC | 2004
This issue features the first appearance of Ishmael Gregor, the second Sabbac. It’s been reported that actor Marwan Kenzari has been cast in an unknown role for the Black Adam film, with speculation leaning towards Sabbac. With this rumor, 14 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 307%, and had a high sale of $24 for a raw copy. With all rumors, proceed with caution. These are out there in the wild in back issues and dollar bins.

#13 THE PUNISHER #218 | MARVEL | 2017
There is prevailing speculation that The Punisher will be introduced into the MCU via Armor Wars, wearing a version of the War Machine armor. Seeing that this happened in the comics, it has exceptionally escalated in value in this particular issue. This Clayton Crain cover is trending with 16 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 137%, and had a high sale of $399 for a CGC 9.8.

#14 SPIDER-GWEN (VOL. 1) #1 | MARVEL | 2015
Spider-Gwen’s first appearance in EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #2 has recently exceeded $2K for a CGC 9.8. This has forced collectors to seek out the next and most affordable key issue, which is this first solo series. 22 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 205%, and had a high sale of $220 for a CGC 9.8.

#15 SPIDER-VERSE #6 | MARVEL | 2020
A TON of new Spider-based characters were introduced throughout Dan Slott’s various Spider-Verse and Spider-Verse-related series. Many have developed a significant fanbase. Some are serious Spider-Man variations, while others are more tongue-in-cheek (like Spider-Cop, who we LOVE). This issue specifically features the first appearance of The Spinster, Sea-Spider, Spider-Requiem, Garden-Spider, Spider-Sting, V, Sun-Spider, Spidair, and White Widow. Now, SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE does promise a fun romp through dimensions. This will, of course, introduce plenty of new Spider-Folk. Many have already been rumored to appear, like India & Punk. However, which Spider-character will get those “blinks, and you’ll miss it” cameos? It could be any of these. Regardless, 21 copies sold last week with a 7-day trend of 95% and had a high sale of $100 for a raw copy.

#16 STAR WARS #14 | MARVEL | 2015
Pretty much any cover with Black Krrsantan has been hot. However, this excellent Mark Brooks features our favorite classic Wookie vs. our new favorite Wookie. And, honestly, that’s enough to make it trend. It sold 31 copies with a 7-day trend of 149% and had a high sale of $26.39 for a raw copy.

#17 STAR WARS DOCTOR APHRA ANNUAL #1 | MARVEL | 2017
This issue features the first solo story of Black Krrsantan. Due to high interest in the characters and his origins, fans quickly grabbed this Annual. 24 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 190%, and had a high sale of $66 for a raw copy.

#18 WOLVERINE #8 | MARVEL | 1989
This classic cover had a sudden surge of sales last week. We’re not sure why the sudden trend of this Wolverine and Mr. Fix It issue, but it sold 16 copies, had a 7-day trend of 253%, and had a high sale of $425 for a CGC 9.8.

#19 THOR #20 GREG LAND VILLAINS REIGN | MARVEL | 2022
Back to the God of Hammers, whose first cameo appearance in this issue helped ALL covers to sell. The Greg Land cover sold 47 copies, had a 7-day trend of 85%, and had a high sale of $25.72 for a raw copy.

#20 MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #8 | MARVEL | 1984
Again, another classic cover with a surge in sales this week. Granted, everything around Venom, Spider-Man, and the black suit are hot right now. This issue ties all three of these together. 26 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 105%, and had a high sale of $800 for a CGC 9.8.
