CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 2/25/22

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1 | MARVEL | 1992
2099 is back on the list! Aside from the continued heat from 2099 appearing in SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, there are new rumors of 2099 appearing in DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. YES, this is quickly turning into the new SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, where every character is rumored to appear. This theory came from Movieweb.com, which mentioned they noticed 2099’s possible costume in one of the broken shards. Like most speculated appearances, take these theories with a grain of salt. This week, we tracked 43 sales of SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1 with a 7-day trend of 98% and had a high sale of $2300 for a CGC 9.9.

#12 BLACK PANTHER #3 | MARVEL | 2022
Tosin falls from the Top 10 list this week. Though, no need to worry, we still tracked a steady 84 copies sold with a 7-day trend of 86% and a high sale of $300 for a CGC 9.8 with raw copies at an FMV of $53. The newer titles out-trended him as sales become steadier for this issue.

#13 STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #20 CHRIS SPROUSE LUCASFILM 50TH ANNIVERSARY | MARVEL | 2022
This issue features the first official comic book cover appearance of the Mandalorian and Grogu, aka Baby Yoda. This book is still quite popular, with 41 copies tracked with a 7-day trend of 108% and a high sale of $31 for a raw copy. However, the FMV has fallen to $14 raw.

#14 THE MIGHTY AVENGERS #246 | MARVEL | 1984
As noted in the TOP 10, there are MANY theories around the blurry glowing unspecified character in the DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS trailer. One prevailing theory is that this is Maria Rambeau as a variant Captain Marvel, and this issue features her first appearance. Interestingly, this book never took off when Maria appeared in the first Captain Marvel film. Yet, a theory like this helped move 59 aftermarket sales with a 7-day trend of 70% and a high sale of $82.49 for a raw copy.

#15 SWORD MASTER #1 | MARVEL | 2019
Also noted in the Top 10, Lin Lie is the new Iron Fist. While his first appearance(s) in WAR OF THE REALMS: NEW AGENTS OF ATLAS #2 (and via cover on issue #1), his first solo series has really heated up! We tracked 34 sales for this first issue with a 7-day trend of 115% and had a high sale of $240 for a CGC 9.8.

#16 STAR WARS THE HIGH REPUBLIC #7 | MARVEL | 2021
This issue features the first appearance of Orla Jereni & Darth Krall, which is trending due to its mention on a Youtube Channel. This spotlight as an undervalued issue moved 31 aftermarket copies, with a 7-day trend of 129% and a high sale of $20 for a raw copy.

#17 DOCTOR STRANGE #175 | MARVEL | 1968
This issue features the first cover appearance of Clea, as well as the first team appearance of the Sons of Satannish. In December, Marvel announced that Clea would take over as Sorcerer Supreme after the events of The Death of Doctor Strange. As her first appearance in Strange Tales #126 is already pricey, fans have moved on to this issue. We tracked 20 sales, with a 7-day trend of 199%, and a high sale of $80 for a raw copy.

#18 THE VIGILANTE #1 | DC | 1983
Vigilant from HBO’s PEACEMAKER series quickly became a fan-favorite character. With his first appearance in THE NEW TEEN TITANS ANNUAL #2 hitting new highs, this first solo series is now also moving up in value. We tracked 29 sales, with a 7-day trend of 133%, and a high sale of $125 for a CGC 9.6.

#19 THE AVENGERS #53 JAVIER GARRON REGULAR | MARVEL | 2022
The first “Red Panther” was the hottest book of the week last week and fell from #1 to #19 with 47 copies tracked a 7-day trend of 76% and a high sale of $15 for a raw copy.

#20 SECRET AVENGERS #19 | MARVEL | 2011
A recent image from Empire Magazine was released, showing Marc Spector in his Mr. Knight persona. This first appearance of the Mr. Knight suit (not the persona) is just barely hanging on this week with 26 copies tracked, a 7-day trend of 133%, and had a high sale of $95 for an NM raw.
