CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 5/20/22

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 MARVEL PREMIERE #47 | MARVEL | 1979
QUANTUMANIA is a movie that is starting to appear on many collector’s radars. Scott Lang plays a prominent role in the MCU and one of the more essential roles in AVENGERS: ENDGAME. His first appearance book tends to price jump in both directions; however, it has a reputation for a steady trajectory upwards. For example, in 2019-20, a 9.8 of this book would fall between $500-$600. After the release of ENDGAME, this book made a massive leap, and 9.8s tend to fall between $1200-$1700. This first appearance of Scott Lang has been getting more attention, and it is evident by the nice surge in sales this past week. We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 148%, with a high sale of $336 for a CGC 9.6

#12 CAPTAIN CARTER #1 | MARVEL | 2022
What more can be said about Captain Carter? Her presence in the MCU and mainstream comics has garnered interest from the collective fandom. This book, and its ratio cover, have managed to stay on our lists for the past month. This book is barely two months old and continues to see a positive sales trend as we tracked 23 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 114%, with a high sale of $320 for a CGC 9.8, with raw at an FMV of $10.

#13 CAPTAIN CARTER #1 ANIMATION VARIANT (1:25) | MARVEL | 2022
Captain Carter first debuted on Disney Plus’ WHAT IF? animated series. It’s only fitting that the same art style on the cover of her first solo series would be extremely popular! We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 88%, with a high sale of $560 for a CGC 9.8.

#14 MOON KNIGHT #1 | MARVEL | 1980
After being initially advertised as a limited series, the world-building that unfolded during the run of Moon Knight on Disney+ left fans wondering if it really was the end after its final episode. This book happens to be the origin of Moon Knight, along with the first appearance of Bushman and Khonshu. As the fandom holds its breath in anticipation of any news on Season 2, there is no hesitation in collecting this iconic cover of MOON KNIGHT #1. We tracked 36 copies sold with a 7-day trend of 79% and a high sale of $800 for a CGC 9.8.

#15 SPIDER-MAN #1 TODD MCFARLANE REGULAR | MARVEL | 1990
Another familiar book returns, never straying too far from our list. The perfect mix of nostalgia, this cover of Spider-Man is an iconic ’90s staple in every collection from that era. Some kept better care of it than others, and when those truly premium books come to market, there is often a trickle-down. We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 99%, with a high sale of $158.96 for a rare CGC 9.8.

#16 AVENGERS #260 | MARVEL | 1985
Nebula has seen many transformations on screen and in the comics. From her various character designs to her turn from the “dark side” in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, Nebula is one of those characters that consistently evolves. It’s no surprise that a few leaked pictures from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 3 would remind collectors of the phenomenal story by Roger Stern and John Buscema. We tracked 10 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 219%, and had a high sale of $28 for a raw copy.

#17 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 | MARVEL | 1992
Miguel O’Hara makes it back to our Runner Up list! SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1 has been taking a top spot in prior weeks. However, it seems that more fans are seeking this issue as the first appearance of Spider-Man 2099. This may be an early boom, as we have yet to see any new news regarding the ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE movie (other than its delay). This book still has lots of time to find its true value range. This past week, we tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 143%, with a high sale of $135 for a CGC 9.6.

#18 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992
Spawn is one of the most beloved modern comic characters driven by nostalgia and McFarlane fans. Since the dawn of CoverPrice, this particular issue has been the best-selling comic of all comics we track. Spawn #1 is the #1 book in our user’s collections to support this. This week, we tracked 20 copies sold, with a 7-day trend of 95%, and a high sale of $204 for a CGC 9.8

#19 SPAWN #327 TODD MCFARLANE | IMAGE | 2022
Todd McFarlane has delivered many iconic covers. One of his most notable, the 1990 SPIDER-MAN #1 cover, is already on this list. There are a wealth of homage covers to this image, and SPAWN #327 is the latest rendering. Instead of Spider-Man, we get the supernatural vigilante, HAUNT. We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 168%, with a high sale of $122.50 for a CGC 9.8.

#20 AMERICA #1 | MARVEL | 2017
America Chavez was brought to life by Xochitl Gomez in the MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. Since she burst in with an explosive debut, America Chavez has been another character that the fandom has clamored for in recent weeks. This issue is America’s first solo series and also a hard-to-find book. At the moment, CGC only has a little over 250 issues that are graded at 9.8. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 86%, with a high sale of $111.50 for a raw copy.
