CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 7/22/22

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 STAR WARS THE MANDALORIAN #1 LEINIL FRANCIS YU (1:50) | MARVEL | 2022
Mando makes his first appearance in a comic story in this issue, along with the first cameo of the adorable Grogu. Yet, this Yu 1:50 is anything but adorable. Leinil captured the grittiness the Mandalorian displays on screen through an enveloping black background, sending fans to track down a copy and hopefully collect some future aftermarket bounty. We tracked 44 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 58%, with a high sale of $60 for a raw copy with an FMV of $38.

#12 EIGHT BILLION GENIES #1 JENNY FRISON & STEVE SEELEY | IMAGE | 2022
Jenny Frison is a highly sought-after cover artist for many collectors. This cover by Frison and Seeley took a dip by being the most accessible cover (due to Frison’s popularity). This week, her cover is back on the list! We tracked 31 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 130%, with a high sale of $21.80 for a raw copy and an FMV of $14.

#13 STAR WARS THE MANDALORIAN #1 DAVID AJA (1:25) | MARVEL | JUL 13, 2022
With this series being an adaptation of THE MANDALORIAN season 1 on Disney+, this Aja 1:25 cover does an incredible job of returning fans to the opening moments of the first episode. Seeing the Mandalorian on his own, dunes beneath his feet, and blood spattering the cover brings the iconic theme song to our ears. We tracked 46 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 81%, with a high sale of $25 for a raw copy with an FMV of $16.

#14 BATMAN #125 COVER M FAILSAFE DESIGN | DC | 2022
While falling from our TOP 10, sales for this issue are still going strong. This book features the first appearance of the new villain Failsafe. This open-order variant is the only cover to feature Failsafe. We tracked 35 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 87%, with a high sale of $20 for a raw copy and an FMV of $17.

#15 EIGHT BILLION GENIES #1 DECLAN SHALVEY | IMAGE | 2022
Fans have been grabbing up everything Eight Billion Genies in droves. Many other variants have grown out of reach as the hype has exploded, so fans have turned to this Shalvey variant. This book has seen a nice boost, with fans scooping up this fun variant issue, depicting slightly less than 8 billion genies with their own unique style. We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 126%, with a high sale of $20 for a raw copy and an FMV of $12.

#16 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 | MARVEL | 2011
The first appearance of Miles Morales is one of the most expensive and sought-after modern comic books, and it continues to stick around our lists, pun intended. Collectors are still eager to shell out for this book, pushing it and subsequent printings to new heights. This week saw 20 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 116%, and a high sale of $3,100 for a CGC 9.8 and a Raw FMV of $730.

#17 BATMAN #125 JOCK FOIL (1:50) | DC | 2022
Despite falling from our TOP 10, this book continues to impress, primarily due to Jock crushing this variant. DC spoiled the community by ringing in the introduction of the villain Failsafe with numerous fantastic Bat-covers. The vibrant yellow background is reminiscent of past Batman emblems, with Jock depicting the Dark Knight as he appears in criminals’ nightmares. We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 92%, with a high sale of $77.25 for a raw copy and an FMV of $51.

#18 X-MEN #1 COVER D MAGNETO | MARVEL | 1991
X-Men #1 for 1991 has been moving steadily over the past six months. While many comic experts report numerous big books suffering from slower sales, buyers have turned to cheaper keys. This iconic series by Chris Claremont and Jim lee massively changed modern Marvel comics. It doesn’t hurt that these covers, especially Magneto’s, are fantastic. Also, with X-Men ’97 a year away, and the iconic theme appearing in MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, fans are grabbing up this issue featuring the Master of Magnetism. We tracked 23 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 108%, with a high sale of $122 for a CGC 9.8 and a Raw FMV of $14.

#19 X-MEN HELLFIRE GALA #1 ADAM HUGHES (1:50) | MARVEL | 2022
The new X-Men event is here, and fans are pumped! This issue marked the introduction of the new X-Team, and its real-life fan-chosen member, Firestar (whom most remember from Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends). The Hellfire gala is in full swing to kick off the new team, with guests from every walk of superhero life in attendance, a few appearing on the cover of this 1:50 Hughes variant. We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 73%, with a high sale of $89.31 for a raw copy and an FMV of $39.

#20 X-MEN HELLFIRE GALA #1 ART ADAMS (1:25) | MARVEL | 2022
Emma Frost graces this 1:25 Adams cover, highlighting the graceful mental mind games she played with Scott Summers during the Hellfire Gala! While a major secret is revealed to the world, Emma attempts to hold her world together. Fitting, she would make an appearance as fans have invested in her relationship with the epitome of party poopers in Cyclops. We tracked 27 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 54%, with a high sale of $30 for a raw copy and an FMV of $22.

  1. Zillion printed X men #1 CGC 9.8 is 9x’s more expensive than a non graded mint copy. Go figure.
