CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 7/29/22

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 GRIM #1 VERONICA FISH SDCC | BOOM! STUDIOS | 2022
SDCC brought about several exclusive variants, one of which belongs to the hottest new series to hit the market recently, Grim. This cover is Veronica Fish’s first tarot cover release and first convention exclusive. It can be confidentially said that it was a smashing success! It was one of the hottest exclusives of the convention. We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 113%, with a high sale of $200 for a raw copy.

#12 SPAWN #1 BLANK GOLD FOIL SDCC 2022 | IMAGE | 1992
There were two versions of this book on sale at SDCC, a signed and unsigned version. The signed version is currently in our Top 10 list; however, the unsigned version is not trailing too far behind. It still has a high demand, even without McFarlane’s signature, as we tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 166%, with a high sale of $250 for a raw copy.

#13 THE INCREDIBLE HULK #449 | MARVEL | 1997
SDCC confirmed the Thunderbolts! Once again, this book is on the rise! We tracked 27 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 114%, with a high sale of $700 for a CGC 9.8.

#14 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992
Spawn is one of the most beloved modern comic characters. Driven by nostalgia and McFarlane fans, his first appearance remains the BEST and most consistent aftermarket seller year after year. This week, his reign continues with 34 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 89%, and a high sale of $300 for a CGC 9.8

#15 EIGHT BILLION GENIES #3 | IMAGE | 2022
Between the variants and standard covers, it seems the standard covers are selling more frequently. The standard cover of this issue sold 30 more copies than the variant. We tracked 43 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 101%, with a high sale of $30 for an NM+ raw copy.

#16 EIGHT BILLION GENIES #2 | IMAGE | 2022
The genies continue to have a presence on our list, with continued and consistent demand for all first print issues in this series. We tracked 46 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 84%, with a high sale of $32 for an NM+ raw copy.

#17 SECRET WARS #1 | MARVEL | 2015
This story from Johnathan Hickman, where universes collide and ultimately collapse the multiverse, is an epic book with nearly every Marvel hero of note appearing. Speculation feels that this is where the MCU is headed long-term. The surreal cover A art from Alex Ross makes this the cherry on top, and many felt the need to pick up this former under-the-radar book out of nearly 50 variants. We tracked 25 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 107%, with a high sale of $136 for a CGC 9.6.

#18 CATWOMAN #45 SOZOMAIKA CARD (1:25) | DC | 2022
Since CATWOMAN #39, Sozomaika has been delivering nothing but gold for the ratio covers of the infamous cat burglar. That is all there is to it! The beautiful artwork combined with the rarity of a ratio cover makes this a highly desirable book to own. We tracked 23 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 116%, with a high sale of $115 for an NM raw copy.

#19 AVENGERS #268 | MARVEL | 1986
While some collectors may simply want AVENGERS #267 for the key appearance, many fans want to read the story all the way through. This issue is the second part of the Kang Dynasty storyline and has recently seen an uptick after the SDCC news on the next Avengers movie! We tracked 23 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 111%, with a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8.

#20 WORLD WAR HULK #1 DAVID FINCH | MARVEL | 2007
With so much news from SDCC, rumors are still bound to be afloat. Kevin Feige noted that more announcements would come soon (most likely at D23). One of those rumors still floating around is about Mark Ruffalo’s The Hulk. World War Hulk has been a long-desired storyline for the MCU. However, Marvel has barely hinted at the Hulk storyline possibly going in this direction. Things look pretty steady as he goes in Disney+’s SHE-HULK. This doesn’t stop people from picking up the issue in hopes that rumors of a new Marvel contract with Mark Ruffalo are valid and lead to the massive world-ending event. We tracked 15 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 169%, with a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8.
